"I can't recommend this rental home highly enough! The pictures don't really do it justice--the rooms are bigger, brighter, and more comfortable than the photos show, and the seaside decks are huge, shady, and breezy. As so many others have commented, this house is extremely well equipped with tableware and glassware, more pots and pans than you can imagine, loads of extra towels and beach towels, and every kind of beach stuff you could possibly want--folding chairs, umbrellas, floats, sand buckets, and endless beach toys. Plus a charcoal Weber grill, and an open shower under the house for washing off sand and salt water. The air conditioning and ice maker are in top form, and all bedrooms (plus the main living room) have TVs. Wifi connection was flawless.
The best part, to my mind, is the location. The house sits on a very quiet street that runs parallel to the Gulf. All the other houses for blocks around are single family, one- or two-story; every house is different--this is not a builder's development. High rise hotels and condos are located far away. This means that the beach feels like a private beach, with very few other people. The sand is just as everyone describes--pure white, soft, powdery. The Gulf water is usually crystal clear, and about waist deep for a long way out. Waves are gentle. This makes the beach and water very child-friendly.
The shops, restaurants, fishing pier, etc are about a mile away. A few minutes east is a national park (Gulf Islands National Park, I think) with miles and miles of beach and sand dunes, totally undeveloped.
Pensacola (the city) is maybe 15 minutes away, with an amazing and huge fish market (Joe Patti's Seafood Market), lots of restaurants, and the excellent military air museum at the Naval Air Station.
All in all, Four de Leigh is a gem!"
