Perdido Key Beach Rentals Provide Access to Several Points of Interest

Perdido Key is a barrier island located west of Pensacola. It features white sands, blue water, and natural surroundings. During your stay, you may want to visit such places as the Perdido Key Dune Habitat or the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The Dune Habitat is located on the border of Southwest Alabama and Northwest Florida. The Dunes are made up of several rows of sand dunes built up by wind. The frontal, or primary, dunes are vegetated with grasses such as sea oats, bunch grass, and beach grass. There are several plant species, including Florida rosemary, railroad vine, and beach morning glories. Further inland are secondary dunes, featuring saw palmetto, slash and sand pines, and scrubby shrubs and oaks. Cordgrass, saltgrass, and pennywort grow between the dunes. Gulf Islands National Seashore is located along the Gulf of Mexico barrier islands of Florida and Mississippi. The Florida portion features offshore islands that have sparkling white beaches, historic fortifications, and nature trails. These islands are located near Pensacola. Visitors can see natural history exhibits, displays on Native American settlements, and an extensive variety of ecological discoveries, as well as enjoy several activities, including biking, hiking, fishing, diving, and boating.
