  • Hidden gem!

"Two families of four had a wonderful time at Seaview! From entering a very clean and inviting house to sadly leaving the last day we couldn't have had a better time. Seaview is set up for a perfect family vacation. A short walk across the street to the beach to play all day, and back to the house to swim, soak in the hot tub, make s'mores and relax on the porch at night. We brought groceries and bought some there at the IGA and Piggly Wiggly about 15 min. away in Apalachicola. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make and eat our meals. We ordered pizza a couple nights and highly recommend BJ's! You won't find a crazy spring break scene at St. George Island-- it is not a traditional spring break location- it's a quiet, quaint, scenic island with lots of uncrowded beach and shells to explore. We rented a boat one night for a pirate/sunset cruise and drove about 45 min. to go horseback riding at Cape San Blas. Other than that, we were on the island, soaking up the sun and playing at the beach. We were at Seaview from March 28-April 4. Our weather was perfect- in the 70s with a light breeze. We got plenty of sun without sweating, yet it was warm enough to swim as well. We had a problem with the oven one night and had to call the owner, David. We immediately were given some suggestions, which ended up working, but before that worked there was no hesitation in an offer to get a repairman out the next day. Everyone appreciated the strong wi-fi in the house. We did not need the fireplace, but that would have been fun if we needed it. The only thing I would recommend is to bring some extra towels and kitchen dishtowels. 6 sets of towels and washcloths were set out as well as 1 dish cloth and 2 dishtowels. We made it work, but had we known we would have brought an extra set from home. Everything else we needed was there- dishwasher soap, liquid dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, bed linens, extra blankets, pillows, etc. Overall, we would definitely go back and hope to next year!"

  • One Particular Harbor

"From the time we came in the front door, we felt at home. Had everything we needed and the deck became our place of total contentment. Will definitely be back.😊"

  • Loved Last Straw

"I stayed a month at the last straw. The kitchen is very well equipped. I am a very particular person and very rarely is anything clean enough for me. This was the case at this beautuful beach retreat. It's a pet friendly property and I could smell a dog odor on the furniture. I stripped all the covers and laundered them and aired the cushions on the deck outside. That took care of the problem. The location is perfect as far as I'm concerned...two short blocks from the beach. I rented a bike and rode the beautiful island. Don't miss the sunsets on the bay side...off Sawyer I believe. I was alone a large part of my trip and felt very safe the whole time. And buy fresh seafood off any of the trucks in town...delicious! I think they could improve the property by providing a new gas grill and remodeling the main bathroom. The tub is very damaged I presume someone ran chemicals down the drain...it cannot be cleaned..I soaked it in bleach to no avail. The kitchen sink has a leak and I had a plastic tub under it to catch the water. The bed I slept in was very comfortable. I brought my own bedspread as I never use the ones provided in rentals. Overall I felt like I woke up in a tree house every morning. Beautiful home! Thanks Butlers! Too bad we never got to meet."

  • Family get-together

"Me, my husband and toddler booked for four nights as part of a longer stay in Florida from England to visit my brother and his family, who live in Tallahassee. They stayed with us for the weekend, so the house was fully occupied with eight people for a couple of days. This was perfectly manageable, given the large pull-out sofa bed in the lounge. The house is really lovely. The decor is modern, but homely and reflects the beach house nature of the property. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could have wanted. We knew the beach already, but had only visited for a day before. It was so nice to be able to wander down to it and spend time there, but get back home quickly if we'd forgotten anything, or for our toddler's nap. My brother, husband and my brother's two sons went on a fishing trip with Peregrine Charters out of Apalachicola, who we would recommend to others. We had a variety of fish that evening and used the grill outdoors. We ate out twice at the Blue Parrot. The food is great and the location right on the beach really wonderful, but the price reflects this! All in all, having looked at a few options, I'm really glad I chose this place. It's not beach-front, but you still get lovely gulf views. We hope to return in the future and would definitely consider staying in the house again, if it were available."
