  • great for both work and relaxation

"We are a group of academics from Florida, the Netherlands and Scotland, and we rented this property for a week-long business meeting (no kidding) in January / February 2015, to write a joint research proposal. The house was wonderful! We spent most of the day working round the very large kitchen table; wifi was excellent, which was important to us. Then in between we went for walks along the beach, swimming and kayaking trips. (The sea was cold, but still OK and enoyable for swimming). The house is a really beautiful space, lovingly furnished and equipped with both beautiful and practical things. You feel very high up in the house, thanks to its layout, which also helped with our concentration! Lovely lunches on the screened-in patio, and a fun evening out at the Blue Parrot. Locally we saw dolphins and pelicans; Apalachicola, Wakulla Springs and St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge (with their alligators, manatees and birds of prey) are all within daytrip distance. A great area for lovers of seafood! We got a lot of work done, and still came away relaxed and with a good idea of the local wildlife, coastal landscape and seafood culture. Highly recommended."

  • Fabulous

"We had such a wonderful time at the sand dollar. We visited some other houses in the area and felt like we got the best deal. Our house was much nicer. Owners very easy to talk to and responded quickly during the entire process. We were in for the marathon and I am always worried about beds and showers. Both were great. If I am ever crazy enough to do the race again or decide to do thenhalf, we would stay in the same place"

  • Cozy and charming

"Our family of 5 including our 2 dogs stayed in this delightful beach house for a week in July. The location is amazing and the house is very comfortable. We were able to sit on the deck and watch our 3 daughters just steps away on the beach. The house is cozy and charming and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed a true family vacation in Midsummer Night's Dream and would definitely stay there again."

  • A Bay to Remember

"This is our 2nd year renting this property! We love it so much that we have already reserved it for the same time period next year. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans and utensils. The beds are comfortable. The view over the marsh towards the bay is breath-taking. We have not used the pool as it is too cool in November, but it is well-maintained. The realty company is great at returning calls and dealing with problems. The only negative is the number of stairs to the main living area. For older people, it can be a big much on some days, but it is not enough of a negative to keep us away! The configuration makes it great for families (although not too big as 7 is about all it will accommodate). It is isolated and very quiet. Quick access to great walking areas and the beach."
