  • Amazing!

"It may be difficult to accurately express how awesome our stay at the Dolphin House was, but I will try! I booked the Dolphin House last May (2014) for my wedding. I had the actual ceremony on the beach in front of the house and the reception on the grounds of the house itself. Everything about our stay was perfect. There was so much space for everyone, and it was an ideal venue to set up and finish many of the DIY aspects of the wedding. The pictures truly don't do the house justice; I have vacationed in Florida and other areas many times, and this really was the best place I have stayed. My well-traveled parents (who enjoy vacations but are generally happy to return home) continue to tell me they wish we could have spent more than a week there. We look forward to going back!"

  • Lovely Condo

"Owners obviously take a lot of pride in this condo! Beautifully decorated and clean with everything you could want in a condo. Bed is very comfortable! Kitchen is nicely equipped. Probably would not stay at this complex again(not because of the condo) It was very noisy!! Several youth groups were staying here as well as lots of kids apparently not supervised closely by parents. I slept with ear plugs and still was awakened several times a night by excessive noise!!!!Maybe during the off season. We come to Okaloosa Island every June for a week and this is the only time we have had this problem. Walls are thin and noise transfers everywhere!"

  • Truly A Summer Dream!

"If you want to a retreat from the hustle and bustle, this beautifully decorated home in this perfectly quaint little town will allow you to do just that. The home is so tastefully decorated and equally inviting from the cozy front porch swing (wear I slept many hours away) to the openness of the living room/kitchen area which is simply wonderful for a large group. Not only was Summer Dream a spectacular place to gather with a group, but there are so many unique areas inside and out to capture a few moments of alone time or to snuggle up with a good book. I always have a hard time finding a great place to vacation with our dog and this was perfect. The screened patio makes the perfect dog trot and the beaches were not only magical for me, but my lovable yet energetic weim could have ran the shoreline for hours. The well manicured bike paths were peaceful and beautiful & the locals were kind and genuine and put a smile on your face every time. The holidays as well as good food, good wine and good friends is the reason we stayed at Summer Dream and for years to come I will not only cherish the memory of our stay at Summer Dream, but I look forward to creating new ones as we intend to make this our go-to Florida vacation home."

  • Most enjoyable and relaxing vacation ever!!

"I have been renting condos in the great state of Florida for a long time but this was the best home away from home I've ever rented! All three bedrooms had comfortable beds and each had full baths and HD televisions. The master bath had spa tub, separate shower and closed in toilet! Kitchen was well stocked with all new appliances, great laundry room with well maintained washer and dryer! Living area had very beautiful and comfortable furnishings. Dining area was great for sit down dinners for my family. It had two sliding glass doors to patio one from master bedroom and one from living area. We were on the ground floor with easy access to one of the two pools and hot tub. The beautiful beach was a very short walk, also two beach chairs came with the condo! Which I really enjoyed because I can't walk for long distances! The property was very well maintained. I will always try to rent this condo and will be telling all my family and friends it's the best! Thanks for the most excellent vacation!"

Florida Main North West Travel Tips

Northwest Florida, aka the Florida Panhandle, is known for its stellar white sand beaches and glowing blue-green waters. The beaches of northwest Florida provide the area's most popular attractions for visitors. Surrounding the surf and sand are a variety of parks, restaurants and shops. Within this region is the Emerald Coast that runs from Pensacola to Port St. Joe, and the Forgotten Coast that runs from Mexico Beach to St. Marks.

Things to Do in Northwest Florida

National Museum of Naval Aviation: Anyone interested in space travel is sure to enjoy the rich history found here. With more than 140 restored aircraft from the Navy, Coast Guard Aviation and Marine Corps, this space offers plenty to explore. Watch a live Blue Angels flight demonstration, experience flight and motion-based simulators and learn about the interior of a cockpit.

Gulf World Marine Park: Tons of family fun can be had at Gulf World Marine Park. With the park's dolphin, scuba, sea lion and tropical bird shows, visitors can see these local animals up close and personal performing entertaining and amazing tricks and feats. As you stroll though, don’t miss Tropical Gardens, where you can pet a live string ray and visit the exhibits of otters, iguanas, alligators and penguins.

Panhandle Butterfly House: Along U.S. Highway 98 you’ll find the Navarre Visitor Center, and at the foot of the beach bridge is an interactive butterfly garden that’s home to migrating butterflies and a nursery housing local butterfly species. The facility is operated by volunteers, and visitors can take a class to learn about butterfly gardening, ecosystem management and habitat conservation. Step inside and witness dozens of types of butterflies flying around. These colorful, winged creations are certainly a sight to see.

Mission San Luis: This exciting northwestern Florida attraction is a popular living history park. More than 60 acres rest on a quiet oasis away from city living. As you walk through the park you’ll feel as though you’ve gone back in time. Examine the exhibit gallery and museum in the visitor center, which houses artifacts both excavated and from private collections. The theater produces live entertainment and a classroom offers workshops and special events. If you visit on Sunday, take an Archeology Tour to learn how the site’s been excavated and how artifacts are preserved.

Panhandle Opry: To get a taste of some good ol’ fashioned country western music, check out the Panhandle Opry on the first and third Saturday of each month. A collection of musical artists gets together to put on a traditional show for visitors who love the genre.

Pensacola Museum of Art: Situated in Pensacola’s historic Old City Jail Building, this public institution encourages creativity in visual arts with 18 annual exhibitions, workshops, lectures and films.

Best Beaches of Northwest Florida

Santa Rosa Beach: Santa Rosa Beach was founded in 1910 and was the start of South Walton as its known today. Surrounding this sandy area are luxurious beach houses, a unique artist colony and plenty of upscale dining. Follow up a day of sun and surf with an elegant evening out, complete with fine dining and plenty of culture.

Pensacola Beach: Famously known for pearly white sand and stunningly green waters, Pensacola Beach is certainly one to put on the must-see list. There are endless opportunities for both fun and relaxation here. Stroll down Pensacola Beach Pier or set up your rod for a morning of fishing. Stake your claim on the beach itself for some quality time with loved ones in the sun before grabbing a lunch of fresh seafood at a nearby eatery.

Topsail Hill State Preserve: At Topsail Hill you’ll find amazing natural features, including 3.2 miles of secluded sandy beaches and dunes rising more than 25 feet tall. The state preserve offers and excellent location for an afternoon of fishing off the shore or hiking through the trees while on the lookout for local birds. Of course, there’s the beach itself, where you can soak up some rays, build an epic sand castle or have a swimming race.
