"The pictures of the view sold me on trying out this condo, but the place is even more beautiful than the photos show. The view and ocean sounds are so incredible we hardly noticed the other great things at first. Such amazing views of the ocean from the master bedroom, living room and kitchen (nothing makes washing dishes fun like watching the sun set over the water as you wash). It stormed heavily for half of our stay, but the view was still beautiful, and we loved watching the ocean change each day as the storm rolled in and then for days afterward as the ocean returned to normal. The day after the storm, hundreds of starfish and shells were carried in on each wave. We also saw dolphins and jumping/racing stingray from the balcony. With the help of a telescope we brought, we enjoyed watching and tracking the ships and tug boats that came and went from the port.
The large balcony was one of our favorite features, with a variety of chairs, rockers, lounge chairs and two tables (one full sized and one perfect for tea). We ate every meal that it wasn't raining out there. In the evenings, we enjoyed watching the sun set, and because of the time of the month, we could watch the waxing moon set shortly after the sun.
Inside, everything was beautiful, clean and comfortably furnished. We loved the king sized bed in the master bedroom, and between the comfortableness of it, and the sounds of ocean waves, slept great. Nice sized jetted tub was a plus, especially on cold, rainy days.
The building is very nice, and since it was so cold during our stay, we appreciated the heated indoor pool. One caution is that all outside hallways were very slippery most days, because it was so damp. Still, I was amazed that there was no musty smell for how wet the halls and elevators stayed. The only other occasional negative was a strong chemical odor from a nearby paper plant for a few hours on two days, usually right before the rain, when wind was coming from the south. Happily it never lasted long.
I can't say enough good about this condo building, this particular unit, and the owner, Ellen, who worked with us to make sure everything was perfect for our stay.
On a separate note, our favorite restaurant when we ate out was Hogfish Snapper, less than a mile away. But mostly we were happy to stay "home" to eat--Walmart and Publix are both nearby for stocking up on food, and the condo is well-equipped for cooking in."
