"We stayed at Joan's condo for a week mid October. We had stayed at Harbor House Condos before since an acquiantance owned one on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately they sold it. We were sooo excited to find Joan's place in the same building with a much nicer 6th floor location! The views are stunning. More importantly the location of the condo is PRIME for visiting Ft Lauderdale!! You WILL NOT need a vehicle as everything is in walking distance. (If there are attractions outside of walking distance that you would want to see the water taxi and bus are a few steps away.) The beach, Lauderdale by the Sea, many restaurants and bars including Hooters, Elbow Room and LuLu's are all within a couple minute walk with great food and music and views of the ocean!! The intercoastal dock and pool at the condo, with a HUGE grill and many lounge chairs and tables, are so neat, clean and comfortable you will want to plan for some time right at the condo! The intercoastal is very wide and beautiful at this location....beautiful homes and boats (ships, I guess!!) for your viewing pleasure! Joan and Lance (who meets you to let you in) where great to work with. Everything went smoothly and my deposit was refunded promptly. The condo is quite out-dated in it's decor which Joan was very upfront about when I reserved it. They have updated to very nice blinds and the king bed as well I am assuming, as it was very comfortable. (Fold out couch left a little to be desired but that's normal with fold-outs.) Other than those updates, the condo is quite 1940ish. We didn't mind it at all and actually thought it was a nice change to stainless steel and ceramic tile!!! If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, go across the street (where you will pay 4 times as much!!). If you want a clean, comfortable condo in a great location and aren't looking for all the glitz and glamour, this is the place for you. Everything that you would need in the kitchen is provided. There are also many towels, including many nice beach towels for your use. I would highly recommend this condo and definitely will plan on returning to Joan's place!! I would recommend taking the water taxi at least once....they give you a lot of information about area and residents and all the ships etc. found on the intercoastal. We all found it very interesting. Also, dinner and music at LuLu's and dinner at Shooters was excellent (great seafood choices!). Thanks Joan for sharing your condo with us!!"

"My husband and I, and our 2 kids came from Argentina & spent one week at this condo and we loved it. The location is fabulous and the condo was beautiful! Quiet & relaxing. The beach was never packed. It was great being able to do laundry. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Miami again. Thanks Tony & Paola~!"

"This was the first time my husband and I experienced this type of travel, and to stay a month was longer than we ever stayed away from our family. The condo was beautiful and tastefully decorated, and Amelia and Rick the owners provided everything you possibly would need, even beach chairs. Instead of driving we could have flew in and rented a car. Waking up in the morning seeing the sunrise coming up over the canal was peaceful, and relaxing and then opening your door and the newspaper is waiting for you. I thank God for sending us to this wonderful place, and to meet our new friends Rick and Amelia."

  • Charm Alert!

"It's hard to see how a location could be much better than this one - a hop away from the beach, yet in its own way secluded; a couple of blocks away from busy Atlantic Avenue, yet quiet. And it's hard to imagine a cottage more charming, from the paintbox of colors inside and out to the tropical plants and flowers in the yard. All was clean and up to date. The beds were comfortable, the showers powerful, the kitchen well equipped. The back yard is secluded, perfect for catching up on your reading or an outdoor snooze. The grill, beach chairs and bikes were much appreciated. I suppose some people would prefer a condo in a building block, but this is the classic vacation cottage by the shore. Did two weeks of perfect Florida weather help? Of course. But how can anyone resist a place that's delightful enough for fiction?"
