  • Great Getaway!

"This property was just as nice as the photos and was extremely large. The 6 bedrooms with baths gave everyone the opportunity to spread out when wanted as well as come together in the dining & family rooms. The pool had just been cleaned and we used it every day. The kitchen and pool area were the favorite hang out spots for our group and we really enjoyed this place. There were several grocery stores a short distance away and we used Uber to get to the concert we were attending. We couldn't dock our boat here because the owner has a boat docked, but that was o.k. as the Marina was a short drive away. All in all - I would highly recommend staying here, especially for a family or group. We definitely plan on coming back!!"

  • Our Wedding Party

"We chose this villa from the details on the internet and we weren't disappointed. We were in Fort Lauderdale for our daughter's wedding and wanted a villa where the main group could all stay together and those visiting for a shorter time could come and spend time with us. The villa was beautiful and it was such a delight having the outside seating area where we spent most days when we weren't out and about. The pool was a good size and the grown up children had plenty of room to play! The facilities were brilliant but I would have appreciated some help managing the oven as it was unlike any I have ever seen before. I suspect the fact that we're from the UK may have made this more of a problem! It was so helpful having the washing machine....my husband broke his shoulder day two of the holiday which restricted him from wearing most of the clothes he had brought with him, Being able to wash his limited choice of shirts effortlessly was appreciated, and it meant I could keep all the washing up to date. The area was beautiful and so safe and secure. It was beautifully tranquil and the iguanas were a joy to live with!"

  • Excellent family spot, Pelican Grand is #1

"We stayed in this unit for a week. The view from the balcony was my favorite! The corner unit allowed us to have a spectacular view. The unit is a nice size and we loved that we could put the little ones to bed and still have a space to watch tv. The beach was beautiful and clean. A tractor cleaned the muck brought to shore from the evening every morning. Allowed the kids to play in nice sand. The chairs and the umbrellas provided at the beach were so appreciated. The pool was a nice option too as the kids got sick of the salt water after awhile. The staff was fantastic!! The attitudes of all the workers was exceptional. In mid afternoon the staff would bring out a bowl of fruit and pass a piece out to each guest. Free water was also available at both the beach and pool. I would stay here again in a minute. Not to mention Larry, the owner, was great with communication and responding fast to emails or phone. Very friendly and easy to work with. I do feel obligated to mention a couple things that may help going into Pelican Grand. To get to attractions and majority of restaurants on Las Olas was about a $15 each way Uber ride with traffic. The food and drinks at hotel were on the expensive side. Most people at the pool mentioned the high prices. Breakfast and lunch seemed to be about $14-$16 pp and dinners seemed to be $25-$40 pp and then add a soda, tax and tip. How we problem solved this, ran to target 2.5 miles away and got breakfast and lunch food and only ate out for dinner. Thankful for the small frig and microwave in our room. It is $35 for a room cleaning during your visit. This was well layed out by owner and we chose to not get our room cleaned during the week because I was able to keep up with the cleaning. However, I did not realize this includes your need for toilet paper. Lol, toliet paper is a necessity I just thought would be covered. However, come mid week the maid walking in the hall had a VERY HARD time sparing a roll saying it wasnt suppose to be given to owners. I think with my dumbfounded look she caved and did give me one. The carpet in the unit is starting to look dirty in the walkways and the couch and love seat is very faded from washing and has some stains that you just overlook because everything else was great. In the end, you will LOVE this resort. Being directly on the beach is the BEST. Thank you so much for renting to us. We will definitely would love to stay in your unit again."

  • Great house, great location, great service!

"I was here with a group of guys for a getaway weekend. The house was perfect. Pool, on the waterway, spacious, centrally located. Even better than that was the service we got with Mike and his team! He helped setup shuttle services, excursions, answered any and all questions. Really went out of his way to make us have a great weekend. Highly recommended. Thanks again, we will definitely be back! -Mike"

Fort Lauderdale Travel Tips

If you're looking a vacation full of sun, warm temperatures, beaches, excellent dining and fun nightlife, Fort Lauderdale is the place for you.

While this Florida city may be known for its epic spring breaks, it's a great place to visit any time of year for families, friends or couples on a romantic getaway. Along the water's edge you'll find miles sandy shores, and when you come inland you'll have a variety of shops and dining options to sample throughout your stay. And with it's subtropical climate, it's an idyllic spot to escape the cold and snow or get a change of scenery during the warmer months.

Considered the "Venice of Florida," Fort Lauderdale features a unique and expansive canal system, so be sure to catch a gondola ride. The city offers a plethora of activities and attractions to explore, from arts and culture to live events and outdoor spaces.

Things to Do in Fort Lauderdale

- Bonnet House: In 1920, Chicago-born artist Frederic Clay Barlett created Bonnet House on land given to him and his second wife Helen Louise Birch by her father, Hugh Taylor Birch. For more than 70 years the families lived on the property, developing the 35 acres into what it is today. Now the house serves as a museum dedicated to historic and environmental preservation as well as creative expression. The main house is filled with a unique collection of art and personal artifacts from the families, while the gardends create a lovely tropical oasis and habitat for local wildlife.

- Museum of Discovery and Science: Head to the Museum of Discovery and Science, one of the largest museums of its kind in Florida, for a day of fun and adventure. An IMAX theater provides a 3-D look at science, and ecoscapes allow you to experience a simulated ride to Mars or a MaxFlight airplane. Peruse the extensive collection of Floridian animal species on display and see animal-centered demonstrations. While you're here, take a ride on an Everglades airboat adventure, dig for fossils, walk under a 12-foot-tall imperial mammoth and watch North American river otters play.

- International Swimming Hall of Fame: If you enjoy all things water sport-related, you'll love a trip to the International Swimming Hall of Fame and Museum. Learn more about famous moments in swimming history, the evolution of swimwear and see memorabilia belonging to people who've excelled in aquatics. The museum is dedicated to the memory and recognition of famous swimmers (both solo and synchronized), divers, water polo players and other people involved with aquatics.

- Hugh Taylor Birch State Park: Be sure to enjoy the outdoors while in Fort Lauderdale. An awesome place to do so is at the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Take an exhilarating hike along the trails or rent a canoe and paddle along a mile-long freshwater lagoon. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy as you experience the natural scenery, then fish off the sea wall or head out on a bike ride along the paved park road. You can also learn more about the area's natural and cultural history at the Terramar Visitor Center. Every Friday at 10:30 a.m., rangers offer guided park tours and feature themes like mangrove, tropical hardwood hammock, coastal dune lake and beach habitat. Guided segway tours are also available as well as kayak, bike and skate rentals.

Shopping and Dining in Fort Lauderdale

- Las Olas Boulevard: For a premier shopping experience in Fort Lauderdale, head to Las Olas Boulevard. Along the commercial stretch of the street you'll find a wonderful array of stores and boutiques as well as art galleries. This part of the boulevard is considered the riverfront area of downtown Fort Lauderdale, and the name las olas means "the waves" in Spanish. You'll certainly be able to spend plenty of time window shopping here and pick up fun souvenirs, then stop into a local eatery to refuel and enjoy a delicious meal as you discuss your favorite parts of your trip so far.

- Chima: Enjoy a Brazilian dining experience at Chima, named after a traditional drink of Rio Grande do Sul. Gauchos (meat waiters) roam the dining room floors offering churrasco of more than 14 different meats on huge skewers ranging from steak, lamb, chicken, fish and sausage. Brazilian and American flavors are combined here, and the salad bar is excellent.

- Laffing Matterz: Enjoy a meal with a side of side-splitting laughter at Laffing Matterz dinner theater. It's a live, original musical comedy spoofing current events and pop culture. Choose from a variety of delicious menu items like calamari, chicken, beef tenderloin, butternut squash ravioli and salmon, then sit back and enjoy the hilarious show that was named "best dinner theatre" by the Broward/Palm Beach New Times twice.
