  • Wonderful SoBe Condo

"Just complete a month stay at this wonderful SoBe Condo located right in the center of South Beach. The unit is very attractively furnished with everything you'll need for your stay plus some extras. I particularly enjoyed the body massage shower. The pool is first class and the beach is right next to the building. About a block away is beach front Lummus Park with borders the ocean and fantastic Ocean Drive and it all the restaurants. I appreciated the security the building offers with several personnel on duty 24 hours a day. Taly was very helpful in making my stay a wonderful experience!"

  • PERFECT BEACH HOME!

"We had a great time in this lovely home (with my 2 daughters ages 21 and 23 and my son age 18) Block from the beach (where we spent our days sun bathing, swimming and playing paddle ball). After the beach we barbequed on the nice patio, swam in the huge pool and played board games. House was clean and decorated nicely (definitely felt like I was at the Beach). Publix was a short ride. Restaurants walking distance. Took a nice bike ride (bikes provided by owner) through the nice quiet neighborhood every morning. We will definitely be back and please don't change a thing. Had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Jane, Harley, Coutney & J"

  • Loved Hollywood Beach!

"Hollywood Beach was recommended to me by a college as a place to kick back and relax for a week on the beach. I started to explore the area via the internet and came across Brenda and Jake's rental through Home Away. I am so happy I followed through and booked this condo. It is situated perfectly on the boardwalk and the pictures are accurate of the condition and the amenities the Condo offers. The boardwalk is approximately 5 miles long with many quaint shops, restaurants and pubs offering live music all within walking distance to the Condo. This area is very family oriented and we felt safe walking at night. One of the restaurants which quickly became a favourite was Flories Little Italy. We'd stop almost nightly for the garlic knots and a jug of homemade Sangria before calling it a night. We also had dinner; try their Mahi Mahi in lemon caper sauce or their pizzas... All were excellent and service was great. Brenda was great to deal with prior to our arrival and both Jake and Brenda were there to greet us when we arrived to orientate us to the condo and answer any questions we may have had. They live quite close by and ensured we had their contact info should we need anything. The Condo is nicely renovated and offers two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and an open living area on the main floor. They ensured we had necessities in the kitchen to get us started and had a well stocked pantry. The grocery store, Publix, is a 5 minute drive from the condo however there are a few stores just off the beach area to purchase milk, coffee and tea should you run out. Now we were 3 sisters on vacation and were looking forward to a break from cooking however we did stock up on breakfast, lunch items and snacks so we could enjoy our time on the beach. Restaurants along the boardwalk were plentiful and reasonably priced. The condo is outfitted from everything for the beach (beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear and coolers). There is a reef located just off the beach directly in front of the condo. Brenda and Jake also have a variety of board games and cards if you want to while away some hours with good old fashion family fun. We had a wonderful week and look forward to returning with my husband in tow! Thank you Brenda and Jake for your kind hospitality and making us feel so welcome and comfortable in your home! • Wow this apartment is beautiful & the location is perfect at Deerfield Beach.

"Wow this place is beautiful, new, very clean with travertine tile throughout, 9-10 foot ceilings, granite countertops, upgraded cabinets, large fully equipped kitchen, & spacious great-room ... overlooking the shops on A1A in Deerfield Beach. We spent a week in July and had a terrific time with our daughters & son-in-laws in several restaurants, shops, bars, and especially the beach. Plenty of nightlife ! Dave and Heidi are so pleasant and easy to work with. I give 5 stars for Dave & Heidi, 5 for the apartment, and another 5 for the location. We'll be back !"

Miami Beach Travel Tips

While it's often considered a part of Miami itself, Miami Beach is actually its own separate area, but you'll find just as much excitement and diversity here. Miami Beach blends together a variety of cultures and heritages to create an eclectic, interesting and thrilling place with plenty to do. You'll find a big Latin influence that'll have you dancing until the wee hours of the morning in a nightclub or savoring each bite of a delicious meal at one of Miami Beach's local restaurants.

There's a plethora of culture to take in here as well, from awesome examples of Art Deco architecture to museums depicting the area's history, beautiful artwork and everything in between. When you're not exploring the various attractions, you're sure to spend plenty of time outdoors soaking up the Florida sun on the plethora of beaches or taking a hike and enjoying the natural scenery. With Miami Beach's subtropical climate, it's the perfect place for a winter getaway to escape the dreary cold, but it's great to visit all year round.

Things to Do in Miami Beach

- Bass Museum of Art: Plan a trip to the Bass Museum of Art where you can see masterpieces dating to the Renaissance all the way through modern times. The museum was founded in 1963 by a private donation from John and Johanna Bass. You'll see such artists as Peter Paul Rubens, Ferdinand Bol, Cornelis van Haarlem, Armand Guillaumin and Benjamin West.

- Miami Beach Botanical Garden: Experience the tropical beauty of Miami Beach with a visit to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. You'll find 2.6 acres of green space, originally founded in 1962 and updated in 2001 with a landscape renovation. As you stroll through the grounds, you'll be sure to marvel at the native Floridian plants and trees such as orchids, cycads, palms and bromeliads, among others. Stroll through the Japanese Garden and let the flowing sounds of the ponds and fountains relax you. There's even a wetland with a mangrove and pond apple trees.

- Lincoln Road: You'll want to do some shopping during your trip to Miami Beach, and a great place to get some retail therapy or pick up some souvenirs is Lincoln Road. This pedestrian road is a great place to take a walk and peruse the shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. You'll find a variety of stores selling clothing, home hoods, bath products, sweets and everything in between. Some shops include American Apparel, LUSH, Dylan's Candy Bar and Aldo, as well as local stores and boutiques. After you've shopped 'til you dropped, swing by an eatery or cafe to refuel with some caffeine or a bite to eat.

- Art Deco Walking Tour: Miami Beach is a haven for Art Deco architecture that is truly a sight to see. Art Deco flourished in the 20th century after World War I. It brought together traditional ideas mixed with imagination that's often characterized by bold, geometric shapes and patterns, rich colors and major ornamentation. Visit the Art Deco Welcome Center to take a 90-minute walking tour where you'll see not only Art Deco but Mediterranean Revival and Miami Modern styles of structures throughout the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District.

"'Dining in Miami Beach'"

- OLA: With such a large Latin American and Spanish influence in Miami Beach, dining on food from these regions is a must. OLA offers delicious Latin American cuisine from acclaimed Latin chef Horacio Rivadero. Be sure to try his ceviches, mustard mojo, beef tenderloin churrasco or Florida sweet corn empanada. Pair your meal with a wine from the carefully chosen list by sommelier Albert O'Mahen to complement your bold dishes. Zagat rated OLA as being extraordinary with a 27 rating, and Food and Wine Magazine named Rivadero "best chef for the gulf region 2012."

- Joe's Stone Crab: For 102 years, Joe's Stone Crab has been a staple of Miami Beach pleasing residents and visitors alike with its delicious seafood meals. It'd be a travesty to visit this Florida city without a trip to Joe's, where you'll find a welcoming atmosphere built on a love of food, friends and family. Joe Weiss opened his lunch counter in 1913 where he served up fish sandwiches and fries, and since then the business has become a local favorite where you can sample crab cakes, yellowfin tuna, lobster and mussels. If you're not a fan of seafood, there's still plenty of options here from the chicken to the sirloin burger, rack of lamb, filet mignon and much more.
