  • Four-Day Stay

"My wife and I recently rented this unit for a four-day weekend for a friend's wedding. Though Sunny Isles Beach is north of the "Miami beaches" (i.e., North Miami Beach and South Miami Beach), my review generally refers to the entire area as Miami because Sunny Isles Beach is only a 15-25 minute drive (depending on traffic) from South Beach. PROS: The unit was on the 19th floor, clean, and stocked with fresh towels, linens, most of the usual hotel amenities, and clean dishes when we arrived. The unit is true to its description - it is oceanfront with a slight view of the adjacent Trump Grande, and it was larger than we had anticipated. It could definitely sleep 4 people and actually had more room than my wife and I needed for just the two of us. The hotel's pool area was sizeable (two separate pools, three hot tubs) with direct beach access, and the wait staff was attentive. Fusion Lounge, the hotel's sushi restaurant attached to the lobby, was reasonably priced and VERY good (we highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeno appetizer). A HUGE plus for this unit is that the rental includes one free parking space and parking at the Trump is by valet. Parking in Miami can be difficult to find and expensive ($30-$60 for overnight parking at hotels, hourly garage rates of $3-$5), and if you do not rent a car you will spend $20-$50 for every taxi ride. CONS: There were a handful of minor negatives that should be an issue only if you are a very picky renter. The room had a slight musty smell when we arrived, which went away after we opened the balcony door and let in some fresh air. The bathroom door did not stay open on its own, so we propped it open with a waste basket. After we put some clothes in the dresser, the left middle drawer would roll open on its own, so we propped up a bookbag against it to keep it shut. Lastly, at times we could hear noise from the unit next door (a crying baby, the balcony door opening and closing). OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: The unit is privately owned, so you must pay an additional fee for housekeeping or wi-fi, and certain hotel services are not available. Check-in and check-out were easy and the bellhops, valets, concierge, and hotel employees accommodated us like any other hotel guests. Renting the unit was easy and the owner refunded our security deposit within 48 hours of our trip. OVERALL: 4.5/5.0. We recommend renting this unit if you want to be near Miami Beach without being in Miami Beach."

  • Love this resort!

"We have stayed at this resort a few times before (even before it was a Marriott) and have always loved it. This was the first time that we rented through VRBO, rather than renting directly from the hotel. We are so glad that we tried VRBO! You save so much money and still have access to all the same amenities as hotel guests (minus the daily housekeeping). Tiffany was very easy to work with, and answered all my emails within hours of me sending them. The unit was exactly as stated. A few things to note, the unit does not have a full oven (only a large toaster oven) and the cooktop only has two burners. This is in no way a problem, just be aware of this when purchasing food to cook. The resort is amazing. Both pools are kid friendly and it's nice to be able to alternate. We went to the adult pool or beach in the morning and then the kid pool in the afternoon. The kid pool in the morning was a little chilly because the hotel blocks the sun. The ocean was so clear in the morning. My son loved walking out to the rocks and seeing all the fishes and hermit crabs. By the afternoon the rocks were covered by the water so make sure you go in the morning. If you want to leave the resort, we recommend Johnny Longboats. We ate there twice for lunch and loved it. It's about 1 mile from the hotel and we walked there both times. We loved it here and can't wait to come back soon!!!!"

  • Awesome Staycation!!

"What a great time we had staying in this condo. The unit has everything you could possibly need to feel at home. The owner was excellent at explaining everything and giving us a tour of the building. The access to the beach and pool being so close is great when traveling with small children. The Bamboo Tiki Bar had excellent food and drinks for the days we didn't cook. I will definitely recommend and stay here again. We had a great and relaxing time."

  • Labor Day Weekend Fun

"One of the best vacations our family has ever had! Vicki came to our rescue with a room that slept our family of five comfortably after we booked a room from another place that had false advertisement and only slept four. We were so close to the beach and had a clean, apartment style place to stay. We are very grateful and plan on making her place a regular part of our vacation plans."
