Charming beach cottage!
"We rented this charming beach cottage Christmas week and had a fabulous time there! From the minute we arrived and stepped in the front door, we were impressed! The place is immaculately clean...it is spic & span. The cottage is decorated beachy chic very tastefully done. It had everything we needed and more. Even had twinkling xmas lights wrapped around deck. What a nice touch by Michelle since we were there at Xmas. The kitchen is well equiped, the bathroom was spotless, linen closet well stocked with soft, thick bath towels & also big beach towels. The outside has a nice deck and also a patio table & umbrella in the side yard. There are beach chairs and a beach cart to haul all your stuff to the beach. Michelle has gone out of her way to ensure a great place to stay. As far as the location, it is central to everything- couple blocks to beach, a block to trolley stop, two blocks to little general store. As for restaurants, in the morning we'd walk couple blocks to Ginny&Jane's neat funky bakery/cafe, mid-day at the Sandbar restaurant where you can have your toes in the sand eating lunch is only a couple blocks away, and then a few more blocks away but still walkable is the little downtown area of Anna Maria with a few more restaurants. The absolute best fish we had was fresh caught red grouper and red snapper from Captain Anthony's who has a little screened in place right off the road before the Sandbar restaurant. He fishes in the morning and then sells it in tbe afternoon. He cuts & fillets the amount of fish that you want in front of you & then gives suggestions on cooking it. Delish! Another note is that Michelle is terrific to work with. She was the very first one to reply to the queries I sent when we first started checking. She was also faster than a speeding bullet in responding to any of my emails. We truly enjoyed a lovely week of carefree days spent at the beach and family time together in the evenings in this charming cozy comfy beach cottage."

"The pictures and description don't do this rental justice. It is a little piece of heaven on earth. Your own private beach, and a beautiful apartment just large enough for two. The bathroom is gorgeous and the shower perfect to wash away the salt and sand. The kitchen is perfect for preparing a special meal for two. It is far enough away from the "action" to be perfect, yet close enough to walk or bike to anything you want to do. We had a wonderful, most relaxing and enjoyable week. My only hesitation in posting this review is that it will become too popular and won't be available when we want to rent it again."

"This home was ideal for our family of 4! It is located a very short walk from Bean Point, the best beach on the island, and the ideal spot from which to watch the sunset each evening. It's also a couple of minutes' walk from the Rod and Reel Pier, a great place to grab breakfast or a drink. The house is immaculate and has everything a vacationing family needs!! We enjoyed relaxed meals in the private yard, under the huge rubber tree. We biked everywhere -- only using the car for a trip to the grocery store. We highly recommend this home as a place to stay when visiting Anna Maria!!"

"We had the best time in this beach front home. The house was very comfortable for our family. Lots of room to spread out, but we tended to congregate on the porch overlooking the beach.
The house is as described. Three bedrooms on the upper floor. (You have to be able to walk up a full flight of stairs in order to get to the living space) Incredible views of the water from the kitchen, front room, and master bedroom. It was in a great location near stores and restaurants that you could walk to and just a short drive to all the other places on the island. There is a free trolley that you can ride that takes you from one end to the other. It really helped that there was a washer/dryer in the unit.
I looked up other rentals on the island and actually went to look to see where they were, as we are planning on returning. Based on the price and location, I couldn't find another one that offered as much as this unit, even if you removed the pet friendly filter.
Laura, the owner, was very helpful and quick to return calls and emails. When we needed another light bulb because one burned out, it was there the next morning. The refund check was sent back quickly also.
The owner let us have our dog at the house, which was great. Although, the island itself is not really dog friendly. You are not allowed to have your dog on the beach; however, we kept her on the beach right by the house and didn't have any problems. Plus, there is a beach on the causeway that you can have dogs.
One thing I didn't understand from the pictures is how you got to the beach from the house. There is a staircase that goes from the porch down the side of the house and then you walk under the porch. This is a nice area where you can be right by the water but not in the sun. Then there are three stairs to the sand. My daughter loved laying out on the beach.
The only thing I could even think of that might improve the rental is to have twins beds in one of the bedrooms. Regardless, we were 110% satisfied with our stay and are planning on returning.
Thank you, Laura."
