  • Best vacation yet!

"This was our first visit to Anna Maria and the first time we have brought our boat on vacation. The verdict is unanimous--best vacation yet! Honestly, the whole family is ready to relocate. The property: Big, clean, comfortable. We're picky and this house does not disappoint. Plenty of room inside and out--more than we needed, but we enjoyed it--a larger group would be very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of room in the driveway for cars + the boat trailer. The setting is private and has great views of Bimini bay from the dock and beautiful boats at Galati Yachts. We have 7 year old twins and we spent hours fishing off the dock. Anna Maria and surrounding area: The island is everything we were expecting. As I mentioned we brought our boat with us. The 12,000 lb boat lift which was one of the primary reasons we selected this property. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed having the boat at the ready--we used it every day for a different adventure. Sitting anchored on the gulf side of Egmont in crystal clear water is simply a different world. Running down to Mar Vista on Longboat for an early dinner and having multiple dolphin sightings within a few hundred yards of the restaurant pretty nice too. If you have a boat--bring it! The owners: Steve was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Our boating experience had been exclusively inland lakes. Steve was very helpful in answering my questions about coastal boating as we prepared. Much appreciated! Great property, great owner, great area--we'll be back!"

  • Quiet,Enjoyable Stay Be the Sea

"We came down after booking the Cottage on line and were very happy with it. Short walk to the beach, restuarants and just walking on the beach. Perfect little cozy away from home type of place with friendly people everywhere. My only suggestion would be to have bikes to use as renting is a hassel. But you can really walk or take the free trolly everywhere.Would recommend it to everyone!!!"

  • Beautiful Island

"We had a wonderful week in Anna Maria with two couples and two toddler age children. The home was well equipped for bringing along young children. Safety wise, all of the living areas are on the second story, so the kids could not easily go near the pool or canal without an adult accompanying them. There is also an alarm to the front door and an alarm to the backdoor. There was a pack-n-play and a highchair available, thanks! We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, the pier, and my favorite was the donut shop. The small porch off the dining room was a wonderful place to sit and visit, and we also spent lots of time enjoying the pool and watching wildlife in the canal. The owner was very responsive to email questions prior to our arrival. We did not need to contact the caregiver for any reason during our stay, but he was easy to reach on arrival to arrange getting into the house. I would also suggest to the owners that they provide hand soap in the bathrooms. A few things I wish I had been aware of - because this home is on the north end of the island, it will take a LONG time to travel anywhere, including the grocery store. When we have stayed on AMI before it was in Holmes Beach. With little kids it was hard to coordinate an outing and a stop at the grocery store, which often meant two trips, and more time in the car than I wanted. If I had planned better, I would have made a better grocery list to limit the number of times we had to make the trip. I also might have planned fewer activities that required leaving in the car (although Selby Gardens and Mote Marine were both awesome and I would do again) and more time exploring the beaches (with more visits to the donut shop, ha ha). That all being written, this was a very nice, quiet residential area. I would stay here again, but would adjust my expectations and "plans for exploration." We had a wonderful time. My 3-year-old is still asking when we are going back to his "Florida house." Soon, I hope!"
