"Extended family vacation to Anna Maria Island for Christmas. Weather was perfect. Worried about temperatures on our first visit to area but highs in mid 80s meant perfect beach weather. House was as pictured. Very homey. Beautifully decorated with personal flair. Extremely comfortable sleeping arrangements for 10. Plenty of bathrooms and TVs for the one rainy day. Convenient and easy walk to beach for multiple trips during the day...great beach gear cart and everything you could ask for equipmentwise including 5 bikes. Easy access to great local restaurants. Issue free house as fully equipped as i would keep my own house or more."Guest: caroline Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: January 3, 2015View listing
"We arrived at Breakaway and were blown away with the accomodations! Traveling with 2 other couples to celebrate various wedding anniversaries and had a great time at "home" and exploring the island. Very relaxing to sit and watch boats and dolphins going by on the bay and then take a swim in the pool or bay. Would definitely recommend to anyone, families, couples, etc and we are already working on future dates to return to Breakaway. Thank you!"Guest: Jeff Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 11, 2014View listing
"Our group of four familes (seven adults and seven children ages 6 to 14) thoroughly enjoyed our week on Anna Maria Island. Matt met us upon arrival, showed us how to operate the spa heater and pool cirulation system, and then gave us a great introductory tour with the boat (both to get to know the boat as well as the lay of the intercoastal waterway, the bay and the ocean). The boat may have been the highlight of trip; we enjoyed getting out to remote sandbars, anchoring off the beach, and at least one of us was almost too close for comfort with a manatee. The beach was a comfortable distance from the house, and the proximity to the house to Publix, the marina and City Pier was great. The house itself was quiet, great for relaxing (by the pool, on the screened-in porch, or in the living room), plenty of space for our group. It was also comfortable for cooking and in-home dining; we ate all our meals at the house except for the day we ventured to St. Petersburg, and the two times we at The Waterfront Restaurant (which I cannot recommend enough; do try the shrimp and grits). As a previous reviewer noted, the condition of the house is a little worn, but when you are traveling with children and all that you want to do is relax, sometimes it's a good thing not having to worry what a child may have inadvertently broken or knocked over. But other than a bicycle crash or two, our stay was without incident. We ended our stay as one big group watching The Secret Life of Walter Middy on the big-screen TV; what a great way to end a vacation. Final item - around a half an hour into our drive home, my youngest realized that she had forgotten her blanket at the house. Matt was kind enough to mail this back to us and I am very greatful for this kind jesture."Guest: Glenn B. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 14, 2014View listing
"We woke up to a family of manatees cavorting in front of our house every morning and again in the evenings. We had lots of storms, but always had plenty to do. We had a few bumps in our vacation, but the Blue Fish Realty people were great. We took our boat as well as our grill and enjoyed fishing and snorkeling on De Soto Fort. Just riding in the boat in a different environment was new and exciting. The house is about 3 blocks from the beach and there is parking on the side street for those who have mobility problems. We were there the week of the 4th of July and it was very crowded. But the fireworks were beautiful from the beach. Our children were 10, 11, and 17. The walk didn't bother them at all. We brought their bikes and locks and they rode those to the beach. There is a wagon there as well. Everything they advertise was there. Good luck to all and hope you have a great summer."Guest: Denise H. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 12, 2014View listing
