  • Like Uncle Eddie's Awesome Margarita Shack

"You know how Uncle Eddie has that house at the water where they are always serving margaritas and going out on the boat and sitting in the hot tub drinking wine coolers? This is just that place! It's got a bedroom for everyone, a pontoon boat for rent, a screened sunset deck, a bunch of couches to watch the game on, and a washer-dryer to rinse the beer out of your sweat pants. With a touch as delicate as Uncle Eddie's last girlfriend, one of the bedrooms is decorated in purple with a floral wallpaper border; the flowery bed comforter was probably a later addition. Like Uncle Eddie's place, maintenance is not so great, so mind that the drawers don't fall out when you pull them open. You probably should wear shoes inside the house as there are a few flooring nails sticking up in the places where the laminate buckled, and there are splinters on the old back stairs. Give the dishwasher a good shove closed, but for good measure you'd better put a towel down in front of it before you turn it on. Be careful to inquire about extra charges not listed on the rental agreement--propane to heat the spa, gas for the boat. Uncle Eddie's place is awesome cool, and you will have a fun time when you go to this place too. Bring on the tequila!"

  • Excellent location!

"My family (along with a friend's family) vacationed in Anna Maria last week for Spring Break. The house itself if quite beautiful. It's location is ideal (steps from shops and restaurants, a short walk to the beach). It slept eleven very comfortably. The house includes some eccentricities (light colored upholstery on main dining chairs that need to covered at all times, need to wash all towels before leaving) that made it less than ideal, but overall we were very happy with the property. Communication with the owner was easy."

  • Christmas vacation

"What a pleasant stay!! Great communication between the owners and us from the time of reserving the dates, the night of arrival and once during our stay to see if everything was in order. This home was very well suited for our family of 4 plus our dog for a week's vacation. It was so nice to have our dog with us while traveling. For a dog friendly rental this was top notch. From the time we arrived we knew that this was going to be a great getaway from the cold Michigan winter. About the House: The kitchen was supplied with all the necessities for preparing and serving meals. The beds were quite comfortable and the house was spotless. Oh! and the shower head in the master bedroom was awesome. We enjoyed grilling steaks out back on Christmas day and having drinks under the lighted pergola. The location: The house was in a perfect location on the Island. We took evening walks every night around the neighborhood and down Gulf drive. You are just a block and a half away from the Gulf of Mexico and the beautiful sugar sand beach, great for your morning walks! Take a stroll to Ginny's and Jane's for breakfast or lunch. They have great homemade baked goods and handmade sandwiches. We did rent a golf cart from a local rental place off the island. They deliver and pick up right at the house, but be sure to make reservations in advance. Too fun! We have vacationed in Florida for the past 20 years and usually stay in Sarasota or Siesta key for the beaches. This was a refreshing vacation to stay in a place with a home town atmosphere. Very relaxing vacation, love the beach (walking, sunsets) the pier (fishing and people watching also dolphins) and the downtown boutiques (5 minute walk from house)."

  • Iowans Enjoying Second Year at Red Fish Cottage

"We love Anna Maria Island and Red Fish Cottage offers a prime location to visit Bean Point Beach, Rod & Reel Pier, Anna Maria Pier, Trolley, & shopping within walking distance. We enjoy the front screened porch, and sunning and cooking on the back deck. The new kitchen and bathroom are great. The cottage is comfortable & homey. The owners are friendly and pleasant to deal with. The cottage is quaint and totally fits the Anna Maria vibe!"
