  • Great location on the Island.

"We enjoyed our stay for the Thanksgiving week. Loved having the bikes to use and the beach was an easy walk from the villa. Trolley stop is 1 block away. The villa's location is good, about halfway between the Publix at Manatee and the Pine Avenue shops/pier. Some areas/roads on the island have very heavy traffic, so this was nice because it was set back. It's close to neighbors on all sides, but this was not a problem during our stay. The villa has mostly everything you need for your visit and three nice bedrooms. The place would be good for both a short visit or a long stay. There are stairs going up from front door to main living area and master, and another flight up to the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. The ground floor has a garage which has access to game room/bathroom/screened porch and outdoor shower. The owner has been easy to communicate with and very interested in making sure all is right."

  • Wonderful home!

"This is a beautiful home and accomodated our party of 10 (1 baby, 4 kids 6-9 yrs, 4 adults and 1 grandparent) perfectly. The availabilty of a high chair and pack 'n play was great, the kids LOVED the pool (BTW it's a salt water hybrid, so tastes salty) and were in it constantly, if we weren't at the beach which is roughly a 500 yd walk from the home. There was one "busy" residential street but otherwise a quiet/easy walk. Very appreciative for the beach wagon which was just right to get all the gear to the beach with us. Some items to note: the W/D and DW are HE, which we were not familiar with so it was a little frustrating until we figured them out. The house was on the market, which we were not aware of, and we had two realtors in two days knocking on the door asking to show the house. The kids room is awesome with the 4 bunk bends and even has a flat screen TV, but there is also an exterior door and there is no child-safe lock, so if your young ones are curious and tall enough to get to the single deadbolt they could let themselves out. The outdoor equipment could use some attention - there are two bikes with ride-behinds neither of which tires would hold air, the beach umbrellas are functional but might not be for much longer and some boogie boards were broken (so I'm told, I didn't use them :-). I brought these concerns and some other feedback to Emma/the owner's attention and she seemed receptive, so maybe corrective action has been taken. Anna Maria is a lovely area and we plan on returning soon."

  • Fantastic property; not-so-great management company in Mike Norman Realty

"We stayed at this beautiful beach house July 12th-19th 2014. The location of the beach house is stunning. The beaches are gorgeous. The house is just as it is pictured. We had a family of 6 at Waves Edge South with 3 bedrooms and a loft for our little girls who loved it. We give the house and location 'Excellent'. However the management company Mike Norman Realty was very disappointing and gets a 'Poor' for service and readiness. When we got to the house we read the many rules for cleanliness (which is ok by us) yet they left us nearly no supplies to keep the place clean. We had to go to the store and buy our own cleaning supplies which is not how I want to spend time on my vacation. The grill had no propane left in the tank. Mike Norman Realty has their number listed to call if you need anything. So we called to let them know the BBQ grill needs the propane refilled and they told us "Let me tell you how this works, you need to go to the hardware store and buy a tank and we will reimburse you". Again, not how I want to spend my time on my vacation especially paying high dollar for a rental, I expect it to be fully stocked. Also, there are no beach toys or accessories left to use, nor can you leave any. They have guests week after week and yet we had to buy our own boogie boards & pool noodles for the kids. We have rented lots of homes and they always have pool toys available in a storage bin. So overall a fantastic home and location. However don't expect any service from Mike Norman Realty, and if you are ok getting your own supplies, then you will love this beach house."
