"We had such a great week at the condo! Everything we needed was there to use. Beautiful Ocean view! Loved having our morning coffee on the balcony while watching the waves, dolphins swim by, and the beautiful birds! The pool was nice and clean but enjoyed sitting on the beach by the Ocean. (Not to far of a walk) Enjoyed walking the beach in the morning to collect shells! Loved the beach bread and grouper sandwich at the Beached Whale restaurant. Nice and quiet area to stay! Did not want to leave this paradise! Hope we can come back soon! Owner was very nice and polite! Answers emails quickly! Dan and Dayna"

  • Super nice condominium!!

"After being away from Sanibel for a long time, it was a very refreshing return, especially to this condo. The décor was professionally appointed bringing in the beach-like atmosphere that added to the overall ambiance. We will definitely return to this great vacation condo unit. The SIBC management was extremely helpful in recommending dining and entertainment on the island. Bicycles were readily available at no charge to the resort visitors. Bike trails are easy to follow and offer a tropical self-guided tour of the island with quick stops for ice cream creations or your favorite beverage. Of the many fine restaurants on Sanibel, we were happy to find some of our favorites still serving great fare. Recommended: Lighthouse Café for breakfast and Doc Ford's for a great dinner experience (killer shrimp!!). And don't forget Mucky Duck on Captiva - best sunsets anywhere. The Lazy Flamingo still owns a fantastic Chicken Caesar salad - strongly recommended any time of day or nite. And don't forget to say 'hello' to the birds at Jerry's. Bring your sunscreen, flip-flops and beach attire as you practice your "Sanibel Stoop". Or, you can just relax at the pool or hot tub. We'll be back next year...."

  • Fantastic place-- close to the beach

"House is very nice and has a nice updated kitchen. The house is very nicely decorated with Mary Ellen's artwork. On this trip, we only had two adults and one 11 year old. We had tons of space. This house can easily accommodate 6-8 (using the couches to sleep). Bedrooms were comfortable and there were plenty of hangers and dresser space for clothes. Kitchen is very well stocked. We cooked in the kitchen every day-- except our day of arrival. It's always harder to cook in someone else's kitchen-- when you are used to your own. My advice is to bring a few of your "must haves" if you are able to-- particularly when driving. When we drive, I usually bring a few things that I'll want to have in the kitchen. This time, I brought (1) Espresso Coffee Machine, (2) Foreman Grill, and (3) a pot for making popcorn on the stove (so I didn't risk burning one of the house pots). We found the house to be a great balance of budget and location. It is cheaper than some places you'll find that are right on the beach. For the better price, you get being close to the beach-- instead of on the beach. The beach is 3/4 miles to the actual water. It's about a 10 minute walk to the public beach entrance (right next to entrance to Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park). It is a 2 minute drive to the beach. I recommend driving if you have gear. There is really no free parking at the public beach entrance. There is plenty of parking at the Delnor-Wiggins park for $6/day). The beaches were very nice / convenient. On one day, we ventured to Vanderbilt beach-- which is about a 10 minute drive to parking garage ($8 / day) followed by a 5 minute walk. Vanderbilt has a wider beach than Delnor-Wiggins pass and is more crowded. Both beaches are clean, well-maintained, with good facilities. I recommend researching both parks on the internet for additional details. Mary Ellen is extremely accommodating and easy to work with. You can't rent from a better owner. She obviously cares that her renters have a great experience. There are some basic, common-sense house rules that are easy to follow. The main rules were to keep sand out of the house and be careful with oil on the granite countertops. (Both of these you would do at your own house). We found the rules easy to follow. For sand, we always entered through the garage to drop off gear Then, we showed in the outdoor shower at the side of the house to rinse off any remaining sand."
