  • Our new favorite place

"This is an amazing place. Set back off the beach to offer privacy with a view, the house has been clearly loved and updated. It is very nicely decorated, with interesting wall decor, a large dining table, and plentiful TVs (not that you will spend much time using them). The lower level is tile throughout, so sand tracked in could be swept up and taken care of. Even after getting back to the cold North, in my mind, I'm only a thought away from that great deck, that sugar sand. We were up and walking the beach, coffee in hand, every morning shortly after 7; the dolphins were a daily delight, as were the birds. We enjoyed watching the sunsets as well and just listening to the waves after the sun went down. When an issue arose over something not explained by the rental company (technology, and the company has been changed), the owner, Scott, responded to my text within seconds (on Super Bowl Sunday) with a detailed explanation. The house is on the main road across the island, and traffic would back up out front daily between us and the main bridge, but we were usually headed the other way (grocery store or Francesco's Italian store, a delightful find) or on the deck or beach, so not much of an issue. One night we walked down maybe 1/2 mile to a great restaurant. We would love to return, but for now, cherish the memories."

  • Our Family Vacation

"We stayed at Gulf Breeze the week after the Fourth of July. We searched quite a bit for a place my wife and I, our two sons and their wives, and grandkids could really enjoy. We chose Fort Myers Beach and boy were we ever happy! We have used VRBO almost exclusively over the past 6 years and the Gulf Breeze was one of our favorites. The house was as advertised and the amenities were very good. The pool area was outstanding and we spent the majority of the time in the pool with our grandkids and kids! Other than a wild thunderstorm that played havoc with the pool and spa control panel, the house was great. Just enough room for the 6 adults and 2 small grandkids. Let me get to the best part of the house and that was it's location. Far enough away from the Times Square congestion to be wonderful, but close enough to pop up there a couple of times as well without a long drive. The location to all of the restaurants and the Publix grocery were excellent. We highly recommend Nervous Nellies, Yucatan Beach Stand, and Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille for great food and live entertainment. Times Square also has some good eating and a wonderful place to sit and have a cold one while listening to some of the island performers. You cannot end the evening without stopping by The Royal Scoop for some great ice cream treats or the Magic City Slush for some delicious Italian Ice. The location for beach goers is fantastic. We simply walked across the street every day to get to the white sand beach. The waverunner rental was right there so what could have been better!! Got to see some dolphins and a manatee up close on a jetski! The owners have pretty much thought of everything for any renters. Having access to the garage for beach chairs, wagons, bikes, and toys was a pleasant offer. The gas grill was great for burgers, dogs, and pizza on the grille. It was not the most elegant place we have ever rented but it was by far one of the best! We will be back here to the Gulf Breeze to stay again! Great job Todd, Mary, Ken, and Dave the pool guy! Thank You for a wonderful time."
