  • Fabulous Family Vacation Home

"Sunset Paradise is a spectacular vacation home! Both inside and out, it reflects owner's pride and excellent taste. It was perfectly clean and sparkling when we arrived. We have rented a number of homes on the Gulf and this one has been the best. The new kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to work in. We appreciated the organized cabinets and drawers which made food preparation so easy. It was a nice touch to have some basic seasonings in the cabinet as well as paper products which we replaced on our shopping trips. The four bedrooms each having a bathroom was a big plus. The decor of the house makes it very comfortable and enjoyable. Those beach towels are luxurious. The owner and property manager provided helpful information. They are efficient and friendly. This house is a big hit! It met all of our expectations and more! Our family had a wonderful week together. We especially enjoyed the short walk to the shore, the refreshing pool and the calming waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The sky is magnificent whether at sunset, daylight or even overcast and stormy. We dined at some great restaurants, too. We are grateful to have found this gem and hope to be back again. Our thanks for sharing your paradise with us!"

  • Perfect Christmas Vacation!

"The description and pictures do not do this property justice. This cottage is beautifully decorated and well maintained. You do not need anything other than your personal belongings and food as it has all the necessities you require: stocked kitchen utensils, quality linens and towels including beach towels, beach bag (thankfully since I forgot mine), chairs and beach toys. The location is perfect and within walking distance to restaurants, bike rentals, shopping, Topps Grocery and one of the local churches. The screened porch was the perfect place for breakfast in the mornings and cocktails in the evening while watching the most gorgeous sunsets you will ever see. There are numerous options for water sports/activities along the beach. We opted for bike rides, beach walks, reading and relaxing. The beach in front of the cottage is not as crowded as the area down by the pier. My husband and I have traveled to Ft Myers Beach numerous times. This was the first time at this property but we are already making plans for our next visit here. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven on earth with us!"

  • Perfect!

"We escaped the cold Northeast and arrived in paradise! The condo is beautiful, better than the pictures. We had all the supplies we needed - I cooked a variety of breakfasts every morning. The beach was right there and we had many relaxing (or invigorating) walks. Sunsets were beautiful. We had three late teen-aged boys with us and they had a great time riding their bikes to Time Square, sometimes several times per day. We slept with the sliders to our master bedroom and the living room (one son was on the very comfortable pullout) open most nights to hear the surf. This spot is a great spot to get to all that Southwest Florida has to offer, although I would recommend heading south to exit through Bonita Springs rather than Time Square. We rented a car and having a dedicated spot was nice. The Publix is within walking/biking distance. I would recommend the Bayfront Bistro, just beyond Publix, for lunch, and Heidi's Bistro (German) for dinner, which was outstanding. I didn't think I would like German food so much but it was delicious!"

  • Absolutely Stunning!

"We've stayed in VRBO homes and condos around the country and this is the nicest place we have encountered. We spent Thanksgiving week here this year. For a couple (60's+) we loved the privacy, quiet and immediate proximity to the beach. We're not 'beach' people, but I love the sound of the surf 24/7 for relaxing and sleeping, and this unit couldn't be closer to the water. We enjoyed walks on the beach several times a day. There is a fabulous view from every window, and the unit is so light and airy, and though the parking garage was nearly full, we never heard another guest. Karen was very gracious in accommodating our requests, and we really had few. The condo was well stocked, from beach amenities to basic spices, utensils, and even a few food items. We loved that the unit was so clean and uncluttered. It is tastefully decorated without being 'over the top'. The location is ideal, with grocery across the street and many fine restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed "Heidi's Island Bistro" nearby, for very good German food from Stuttgart natives Axel and Heidi. We return to Colorado tonight and will miss our beach and warm weather, but if we ever vacation in Florida again we will find a way to make it back the this property. Karen, thank you for making this such a memorable vacation."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.

Things to Do in Fort Myers Beach
