  • Great vacation condo

"We spent two weeks at Carlos Pointe and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo is as well equipped as any We have ever rented, from the kitchen through the rest of the unit. Location is fantastic as is the beach, although a little walk to get to the water. Beach is great to walk every morning, lots of shelling (if that's your thing), close to great shopping, restaurants and other amenities. The grounds are impeccable and the pool area is fantastic. Highly recommend this condo and this owner to deal with."

  • tropical paradise

"Our stay was a wonderful experience. The home was very clean and spacious. The 2 adult bikes were well used touring the whole island. Close to Times Square and a grocery store, library, and the community pool & recreational centre. Everything you needed was there. Feels like a home away from home. Beach is a four minute walk. All beach equipment that you would require was there including umbrella and beach chairs. Quiet neighbourhood lots of trees."

"Perfect vacation spot. As described. Walking distance to the pier and shopping with the beach across the street and privacy as well. Plenty of room for 7 of us. Well maintained and clean. Kids had a great time fishing at the pier and from the dock on the bay. Owner was easy to reach and answered questions promptly. Would love to stay here again."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.
