  • REJUVENATING TWO WEEKS!

"The location was wonderful--on the south end of the beach. Trolley provided easy access to restaurants which weren't in proximity to the condo. Beach and views were to die for; we had the choice of taking in the many sunsets from the lanai or walking down to the beach. Well maintained community grills made cooking for those nights when we ate in a breeze. The condo itself was immaculately furnished, and everything we could need was in the kitchen. It was great fun to have coffee while reading the newspaper on the lanai. Plenty of chairs and toys for the beach. After 3:30 in the afternoon, we could practically have the beach to ourselves. Gulf was definitely swim-able in late-Feb to early-Mar. We plan to come back again next year."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.
