  • Fabulous Trip

"Just returned from a fabulous trip to these cottages. We had booked both cottages and they were gorgeous Florida beach cottages, exactly as described. This was for a family get together/holiday and three generations of our family loved them. The beach access right outside the back door was a huge hit and you couldn't find a more perfect spot to relax, although it was close enough to everything that you could have as relaxed or active a break as you wished to. There was off street parking right outside the front of the properties and the location was perfect, a trolley stop 2 minutes walk away which brought you right up to Time Square in just minutes and a very short drive to Publix. Cecilia in Sunworks made the whole process so easy for us booking from overseas and we really couldn't have asked for anyone more helpful. She was a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would highly recommend a stay in the cottages for anyone considering a trip to Fort Myers Beach."

  • Perfect location to relax and rejuvinate with family.

"Tom and Sue (owners of Mango Street home) were excellent about answering questions prior to our arrival so we knew exactly what to expect and bring with us. We were totally comfortable staying in their home for our family vacation. We had 8 adults so we filled every bedroom. The walk to the beach was easy to do. There were beach chairs, coolers and a cart to haul stuff to and fro in the garage to use which eliminated any additional rental costs to visit the beach. We didn't get to check out the little restaurant at the end of the street because they were being sprayed for termites... LOL. The covered pool area was perfect to get away from the beach and just float on a raft. Mango trees line the back of the pool area so some part of the pool is shaded nearly all day. A few of us rented bikes to trek up and down the beach. Everything you could want is within easy walking distance on the island but we chose to rent a minivan to get us around. We toured the area and checked out Jungle Erv's adventures... well worth the drive off the island! Thanks Tom and Sue for a great vacation!"

  • Great Place!!

"Stayed for the weekend with my cousin and our kids....couldn't have asked for anything better! Had everything we needed in and out of the cottage - including beach chairs and the girls even found beach toys to use! So close to everything but also quiet and private! Will definitely plan to go back again!!"

  • Excellent Spring Break FAMILY vacation!

"We just loved our stay at the Beach House! The location was absolutely perfect - just steps from being on the beautiful beach and the pool/lani was so private, well manicured & the perfect temp for evening dips in the pool after being at the white sandy beaches all day. The house was super clean and decorated in a cute beach theme (hence the name) and had all the comforts of home plus more! From the bottle of wine, sand buckets, shovels, beach chairs, umbrella and a beach cart who could ask for more?! Our 2 kids & 3 dogs had a blast exploring the yard for little lizards and we spent countless hours at the beach finding all sorts of sea life and beautiful shells. We were there during a peak week of Spring Break and had no problems with loud neighbors or drunks on the beach like you might find at other beach hot spots. The Beach House is the perfect family friendly getaway. Todd & Mary were wonderful to work with and provided us with so much helpful information before our trip. We would also recommend Charlie's Steakhouse only a 2 minute drive from the house. They had an awesome huge salad bar and reasonably priced for families with kids."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.
