"Great location on a private beach connected to Lovers Key beach. Enjoyed our stay. Would liked to have had more dishes (plates, cereal bowls, etc) so we would not have to use the dishwasher as much. Duvet and pillow covers need updating ...they were too heavy. The restaurant I would recommend would be South Beach in Santini plaza (early bird special at 4:30-5:45)."

  • Very Extended Family Vacation

"We spent a week in October at this beach front home. My wife and I along with our daughter and her family, and my mother in law, father and an older aunt. In all, we had 7 adults and 3 children. Kids were 2, 8, and 13. My father is 87. We all loved the place. It is an older home, but is clean and very well suited for family vacations. Four bedrooms allowed all of our group to have a bedroom and their own bath which helps greatly when this large a group tries to get ready to go. The beach was wonderful and we could sit and view it from the enclosed lanai or the open deck. Pool was the most outstanding feature for our kids.....4 different levels with one being about 6 inches so you could walk around on top of the slab, but in the water, another level about 2 feet to wade, third was maybe 3.5 feet for midrange kids to swim in, then the main part slopes from about 4 foot to 6 foot or better at the deep end. Worked really well for our group with a 2 year old, 8 year old and 13 year old and adults. Kitchen/dining area was large enough for us to all eat together (important for our family) and the living room was also large enough or us to gather. The electronics and interior could use some updates, but we were not there for TV and electronics, and it was clean and well kept. We did not eat out a lot as with a group that size it is difficult, but it was obvious that there was plenty to do in terms of eating or nightlife. We liked the fact that it was a short trip to the Everglades. Spent a day down there doing Airboat, Swamp Buggy, gator show, wildlife viewing, etc. Really good day and the Airboat was my 87 year old father's favorite part. This destination and location will definitely go in my "for future vacations" file. The owner, Stephanie was also very open, honest, and easy to deal with. Recommend this location with no limitations."

  • Awesome Views

"VRBO description was very accurate and all pictures accurately reflected the condo. The condo was very clean and very well maintained as well as the building itself. Condo owner was very helpful in making our visit a positive experience. Caretaking/Maintenance certainly take pride in their job and the building looks like it. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is also very well maintained. The private balcony was outstanding with the best view anybody could ask for. In the two weeks that we were there we saw Dolphins everyday morning and evenings, it was a beautiful site. I would definitely recommend this condo and as well I hope to make it back one day. we went to the Sandbar twice and it was very good. I would recommend the Naples Zoo, very well priced and Zoo Keepers do animal feelings so you get a better show of the animals."

  • Excellent Condo!

"I would highly recommend this condo! My husband and I stayed here with my two young boys and it was wonderful. The condo has everything you would need including games for kids, videos, beach chairs and umbrellas. It was roomy and set up with a flat screen TV in each room. The lani has the perfect setting for breakfast each morning. I am usually uptight about cleanliness and this place surpassed my expectations! The location is perfect and only a five minute to the beach. Liv was also great to work with and accommodating; She made sure there was a pack-n-play we could use for our baby."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.
