  • Five Star Getaway

"Unit #403 is an idyllic location for rest and relaxation. Add to that Fort Myers Beach as a great venue, with much lower air fares and travel distance than the Caribbean or Hawaii. From the Lanai, you can enjoy the calming sound of the ocean waves rolling over your view of the beautiful white sand beach. The Unit is tastefully decorated; it is clean, well maintained with a comfortable bed and updated kitchen. If you simply must return to reality from time to time, there is Wi-Fi. A grocery store is within easy walking distance, and a nice new Library is two blocks away. Walk just a little farther, or drive, and there are several good places to eat along Estero Blvd. It has a great pool area and a nice hot-tub. If you can’t be pleased with this rental, then you can’t be pleased. Doug and Cheryl from Fishers, Indiana"

  • Great vacation condo

"We spent two weeks at Carlos Pointe and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo is as well equipped as any We have ever rented, from the kitchen through the rest of the unit. Location is fantastic as is the beach, although a little walk to get to the water. Beach is great to walk every morning, lots of shelling (if that's your thing), close to great shopping, restaurants and other amenities. The grounds are impeccable and the pool area is fantastic. Highly recommend this condo and this owner to deal with."

  • Home Away from Home

"We stayed here for a month, and it was an absolute pleasure. The condo is nicely furnished and the perfect place for relaxing. We loved that there was plenty to see and do nearby without feeling overwhelmed or a lack of privacy, like there might be staying someplace further north on the beach. The owner was very helpful and delightful to deal with as well, and we're very happy with our decision to stay at this condo. It felt like a home away from home for us by the time our trip ended, and we would jump at the chance to visit again in the future."

Fort Myers Beach Travel Tips

More than 6,200 people call Fort Myers Beach home. This town located on Estero Island wasn't officially incorporated until December 1995, making it a newer Floridian hotspot. Although Fort Myers Beach may be small, more than 1.8 million visitors flock there every year to enjoy the beaches, fishing, shopping, dining, golf and entertainment along the Gulf.

There's no undertow in Fort Myers Beach, making it the "World's Safest Beach" and perfect for families who want to get their toes wet. The entire island is 7 miles long, a nice walk or jog for those who want to work in a little exercise on their trip.

The area that was once home to Native Americans and Spaniards is a favorite among tourists who dine on "pink gold" shrimp and celebrate the fishing industry with the week-long Shrimp Festival held in March.

Fort Myers Beach Attractions

There's a lot to do on the tiny island of Estero including water sports, beach activities and outdoor and indoor attractions. There are 25 public beach accesses on the Gulf side of Estero Island that are marked for easy spotting.

You can stop by one of several playgrounds and parks in Fort Myers Beach. Head to Lynn Hall Memorial Park, where you can fish off of a 600-foot pier. Sports lovers can venture over to Bay Oaks Recreation Center for basketball, tennis and volleyball courts.

There are 17 acres of fun on the northern tip of Estero Island at Bowditch Point Regional Park. For more protected wildlife areas, check out the Matanzas Pass Wildlife Preserve with a restored cottage, 42 acres of wilderness and a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Seven acres are developed for a park and the rest remains part of a preservation. There are boardwalks that allow visitors to Estero Back Bay access to observe ospreys and pelicans as they fish for food. Kayaks and canoes are available at Oyster Bay and Lovers Key Barrier Island.
