  • Relaxing stay in beautiful Fort Myers canal home near the river

"My husband and I enjoyed our Feb. 2015 stay at Gloria's lovely home. We have been coming to Fort Myers for the past four years and this was the first time we rented a home off FMB. The home is just a block from the Caloosahatchee River off McGregor Blvd. It is close to some great restaurants and its proximity to downtown Fort Myers opened up our "stomping grounds" area from the beach alone to downtown Fort Myers and more sites and restaurants on Sanibel/Captiva. Gloria's home is fabulous inside and out. The yard is landscaped beautifully and the interior is spacious and decorated to a tee. On cooler days, it was enjoyable to just stay at "home" and read. Grocery stores, movie theaters, and shopping were 10 to 15 min. away. Publix, Costco, Home Goods, Bell Tower Shops, and boutiques were a hop, skip, and jump away via Whiskey Creek Blvd. We also went swimming at a community pool that was just 2 mi. away. We recommend getting a Sun Pass for the toll to Sanibel/Captiva as Gloria's home is close enough that you will find yourself returning there often. We love the coconut shrimp at Timbers on Sanibel and lunches at Grandma Dot's at the Marina. I also engaged in some retail therapy at the Tanger Outlet on the way to Sanibel. If you want to escape the cold and really relax, Gloria's home is the perfect choice."

  • Wonderful stay!

"This was our first experience with VRBO. We were fortunate enough to get this property on a last minute cancellation in mid-January. From the first moment I reached out to Elizabeth, she was so amazing! We exchanged telephone calls and text messages numerous times and Elizabeth was always including pictures of the area and the townhouse/condo. After discovering our mutual love of dogs she sent pictures of “Sparky” the family wheaten terrier. Not being extremely familiar with this area of Florida, we did not know what to expect. The townhouse/condo is in the best possible location. Close to the beaches (Fort Myers, Sanibel, Captiva and Bunche Beach Preserve), close to numerous restaurants, outlet malls, Publix, and baseball at Hammond (Minnesota Twins) and JetBlue Fenway South (Boston Red Sox) Stadiums. The townhouse/condo is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, where we enjoyed daily walks around the lake and out to the fishing pier. Everyone is extremely friendly and we met numerous people. The unit itself was very clean, had lots of space and all the amenities you could want to make your vacation comfortable. We loved the patio area where we enjoyed our morning coffee, occasional lunches and the evenings after grilling our dinner. The Wi-Fi and unlimited long distance calling to North America helped us stay in touch with work and family. The heated pool was less than a 3 minute walk and was always very clean, another great spot where we made new friends. Elizabeth and George even invited us to their home for lunch and it was a pleasure getting to know both George and Elizabeth better. They are both so very warm and accommodating! We loved our stay! Thank you Elizabeth and George, we hope to see you next year! Mike and Diana"

  • Very nice place to stay!

"The Bungalow is absolutely beautiful! The pool area is so relaxing and the neighborhood is very quiet. The pictures on the website of the house really don't do it justice. The house has all the comforts of home and you literally only need to bring clothes and food. The owner was great to work with and always responded quickly to all of my questions. The beaches are very close. We visited two great outlet malls (Tanger and Miromar) and also went to Coconut Point shopping mall. Two restaurants that we really enjoyed were Rib City, (which is very close to the Bungalow) and Mel's diner, (which is in Bonita Springs). Mel's has an awesome breakfast! Make sure you also go to the Flamingo Island flea market which is only open on Fri., Sat., & Sun. I would recommend the Bungalow to anyone. You definitely won't be sorry for staying here! In fact, we have already rented the place again for next year!"

  • Simply Heaven!

"We couldn't have wished for a more beautiful condo and view. The condo's decor is masterfully furnished with an eye for beauty and a beach lover's delight. It seems every day we were here, we found a new surprise to admire - each piece is unique and seems to have been chosen with love, care, and comfort in mind. The view from both inside and out on the lanai is breathtaking. Since the window stretches across the condo, it actually brings the outside inside. Looking out from inside, we easily felt part of the gorgeous and carefree experience that the beach offered. Sitting outside, we also enjoyed the constant relaxing entertainment of the shore. We watched heron, dolphins, pelicans, seagulls, along with many boats constantly on the move in the gulf. Since we were on the third floor, we could hear the waves lapping on the shore and almost reach out and touch some of the boats. Each day we spent swimming laps in one of the three pools surrounded by palm trees. We chose the one that was nearly always empty, so it was almost our private pool. We were interested in just sitting back and unwinding and that is what we did! But we could easily see how a family with children, a group who wants to get together, or people who want to see some interesting sites would relish this trip. The owner, Patti, was an absolute pleasure and very helpful in giving us advice as we planned our vacation. We can almost guarantee you won't want to leave when your vacation is over!!"
