"My wife and I have been to Gasparilla Island once a year for the past four years, and have really enjoyed staying in cottages in Boca Grande. We would certainly return to this cottage, as it fit the bill for us during our 10 day stay. The kitchen/living room was spacious with an open floor-plan, and nice large island with counter top and stools. All the appliances worked very well, including a large frig/freezer, large flat screen TV, and outdoor gas-fired grill. Bedrooms were cozy with adequate bathrooms. And it had a great screened porch with room to eat at a round table for four and sitting around a coffee table with seating for four. There were also a number of seating areas within a large fenced in outdoor porch area. All the furniture, inside and out, was comfortable, not dated, and reinforced the cottage theme. The walls and trim were freshly painted, and the ceilings were all a light white-wash knotty pine that looked great! We had a small infestation of ants one evening, but the owner [who lives next door] took care of that problem the next morning.
Having the owner living next door was a plus, since he let us know he was always available to make sure ever part of our visit went well. He never hovered, but was always available - answering the phone or text. He gave us some great suggestions about places to visit of the island on a cold blustery day - not conducive to hanging around the island.
If you don't know much about Boca Grande, most of the cottages [including this one] are within walking distance of the beach, about seven restaurants, and fun places to explore. And, being about 7 miles long, renting bikes and/or a golf cart lets you explore the entire island, and keeps you out of your car and relaxed.
Summary: Great cottage, great landlord, great location."
