  • Escape and unwind

"When you need to step off for a while, reduce stress and reconnect with friends and family Peacock Lane Cottage with ocean views is the place to do it. Fear not, we were able to watch Thanksgiving weekend football, they have cable, and check in on the world with wifi too. The cottage is comfortable and well laid out. We appreciated that the cottage was clean, organized and well stocked with essentials. If you plan to arrive on a holiday, making plans in advance for transportation and groceries is a must given businesses are closed or have shortened hours."

  • The perfect place to stay on the island!

"We have been coming to LGI for eight years, and "Paradise Too" has been our favorite place to stay by far! We loved being on the canal, and the walk to the beach is only a couple of minutes. You can unload right from the water taxi, which saves a number of trips in a golf cart or having to haul your things. The house has everything you need and more! After staying at so many houses on the island over the years, this house was the most equipped. My 14 year old son and his friend loved fishing from the dock and beach, and used the fish cleaning station. They caught many types of fish over the week from the canal, the bay, and the beach. Patti's neighbor Mike was super friendly and an avid fisherman like the boys. Patti is terrific to work with and always responded quickly to questions I had regarding the house. She is also the BEST owner I have worked with in all of my years on the island. We will definitely be back!"

  • You'll Want to Stay Forever

"Very clean! Well kept and maintained property. Secluded from other homes on the island - very private. Lower level has beach equipment storage, washer/dryer, outdoor shower (for removing beach sand), and a mother-in-law apartment with it's own air conditioner and restroom/shower (perfect for Grandma). Upstairs has wrap around balcony with gas grill, screened-in porch with wicker seating for four, large kitchen and living room with plenty of room for kids to sprawl and plenty of kitchen wares (yay blender) and reverse osmosis drinking system, two bedrooms with K / Q, full bath. Laundry basket and hamper provided. Lots of towels and even a beach bag were in the linen closet! We had an issue with the tub faucet (island water blocked it up) but the owner John replaced it ... it was very handy to have him just at the end of the road. We also rented his golf cart which was a must for getting items from the boat to the house - we arrived after a major storm and dragging luggage over the cart paths would have been a mess. Only suggestions: more hand towels, wash cloths, This rental has no dish washer, but we relied on paper plates and only had to wash cookware. Helpful info: We used Pirate water taxi to get to the island ($10/person/way) - which you want to be on time for (Capt Emmett will let you know that for sure!). We bought groceries and liquor at the Publix in Placida. Groceries were cheaper there than in our home state of Colorado... Liquor comparable. Capt Emmett dropped us off at dock 75 which is the shortest distance to the house, but if John leaves the cart at his dock for you, you'll want to get dropped off at 78/79. The beach is a short walk/golf cart ride away. The sand bard extends quite a ways off shore and I saw teenagers 100 ft out that were only waist deep. Beach had people on it but not overcrowded. Folks brought body boards, paddle boards and kayaks. We saw dolphins off the southern tip of the Island but took a boat ride to see them and manatees (John knows where to find them if you rent a boat). The water was not very clear due to the major storm (tornado and massive rain) prior to our arrival. The water is still pretty cool but the air temp was in the low 80s and perfect throughout our stay. We waded and our young kids played in the waves. To be honest, we didn't want to leave and could have stayed forever. We'd definitely come back and stay with John again. Thanks, John for treating us so well and for all your help!"

  • Fishing Paradise

"Great fishing vacation with my wife and sons at Dock Envy. Beautiful unobstructed view of Bird Island, and a short walk to the gulfside beach. Owners are the best! Very helpful with anything and everything that we needed, including giving us a golf cart tour of the island and casting a net to catch some live bait for the boys. Boys caught everything from 15" Mangrove Snapper to large catfish to Rays to Snook, including a monster 42" Snook that made my 14 year old's year. The water taxi to the dock is comfortable and is a 5-minute boat ride from Eldred's Marina. Would recommend that you know how to throw a cast net for bait. There is baitfish galore and it is easily caught if you can throw a net, and the big boys like the mullet. Hold on for dear life is all I can say. Thanks John and Cindy for a memorable week; and we'll see you again soon."
