  • Getaway

"My husband and I recently stayed at this unit which was neat, tidy and fully equipped with all the necessary kitchen supplies and linens. The view is lovely of the lake. It is conveniently located near the picnic area, community pool and ferry. The golf cart made it easy to get around the island. The beach is private and we enjoyed our long walks collecting shells. The owner's prompt response to our requests was greatly appreciated. This is a great getaway. Enjoy."

  • Coconut Hideaway, exceptional beach front home with more exceptional owners.

"We spent two weeks at Coconut Hideaway. The first week it was just my husband and I. We walked on the beach, found hundreds of shark teeth, and just decompressed from our hectic work life. I must have read 5 or 6 books in the two weeks. We left the island only to pick our three kids up at the airport (and grocery shop on the way back) for the second week/Christmas week. We kayaked; fished from the kayaks, stand up paddle boarded on both the bay side and the gulf side. We explored around the small mangrove ‘islands’, found mangrove tunnels, and saw lots of ‘jumping fish’ (I think called ‘mullet’ fish. Everyone seems to comment that this house is ‘special’ and they are so right. It IS special in so many ways. Our jobs require many weeks of travel per year, and the impersonal nature of hotel rooms and rental condos gets very old, so no way did I want our vacation to feel like another work trip. It is so wonderful to walk into a home. A home that has been decorated with an eye for comfort and interesting places. A home stocked with all the little things you’d not think you’d miss over two weeks away from your own home. A home stocked with spices and herbs for cooking, and coffee filters, because it’s the little things that you forget about that add up fast, and I don’t mean just dollar-wise, but more convenience-wise. I forgot to buy coffee at the grocery store on our way, and I was so thankful that Laurie had plenty of extra there (which we replaced on our next grocery store visit, but just glad to have it!) Had I rented one of the other ‘empty’ houses or condos, which come with just standard cookware etc. I never would have remembered all the little things, and it would have taken away from the overall ease of the vacation. The weather varied over the two weeks from high 60’s to low 80’s. We had a couple of very windy days and huge waves, and we all had so much fun boogie boarding and building sand creatures. We had a little rain, for a couple of days, and having a fully stocked game cupboard was priceless. That started a gaming streak of Clue, Yahtzee, scrabble, trivial pursuit and Monopoly. It was so fun. We rented a stand up paddle board from Cape Haze Marina, which was so great we ended up purchasing it. What a great place to use it! Laurie is so helpful with making sure you know just what you need and how to get it organized as far as food/grocery store, the water taxi, etc. She's like a personal vacation assistant. We'll be back."

  • Beautiful Setting - Friendly responsive owners!

"We stayed at this beach house in early March and had a wonderful time. We loved the seclusion, the sunrises on the bay and the sunsets on the beach. We watched a man catch a 200 pound shark on the beach. We rented a boat and cruised the intercoastal waterway - saw so many beautiful birds and lots of dolphins! Beautiful place, the owners were amazing. We had an issue with the hot water and the problem was immediately attended to by their caretaker who lives on the island. We heartily recommend this place to anyone headed to Little Gasparilla. We'll be coming to LGI for years to come. Thanks for sharing your place with us!"

  • A place to Escape to from an hectic world, Peacock Lane, Gasparilla Island

"My friend and I decided to get away after a busy season at work. What would be better than a getaway on an island? We chose Little Gasparilla Island .Easy to get to by water taxi. Just make sure to bring provisions and plenty of sun screen lotion..The cottage is cute with plenty of outside space for dining and tanning , inside comfortable with plenty of space and also a place to watch a favorite show on tv. . The view of the long sandy beach is spectacular ! Sunning , swimming in beautiful turquoise water, long walks , shelling and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. The cottage is clean and cozy. Great place to relax and get away from it all. We would highly recommend it."
