  • A Perfect Family Getaway

"We stayed at the house for a week during March 2014. We had my wife three children (adults) and my daughter in-law and two grandchildren. The house was perfect. Of course it always helps to have nice weather which we did. The house is well maintained on one of the finger streets on the north end of the island on the bay side. The kitchen is well laid out and reasonably equipped. We did a lot of cooking. There were even extras like spices and cooking oils available if needed. There is a master bedroom, and bath suite on the top floor. It is a lovely room with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the canal and the pool. The pool is heated and easy to control. The other bedrooms were also well laid out with clean modern baths. The neighbors are all friendly and have known the owners for years and seem very comfortable with guests staying in the house. The maintenance person is available and very helpful. The beach is about a ten minute walk. There are not many beach access points on Longboat Key but this is by one of them. You can park by the church and there always appeared to be spaces available but we ended up always walking. The beach is beautiful and fairly private. If you want the crowds go north ten minutes just over the bridge to Coquina Beach in Bradenton. It is a beautiful beach and you can get ice-cream and even a beer. Further north is more of what you would expect of a beach town, little shops, restaurants, pizza. Going south you are headed towards Sarasota and St. Armand’s Circle. It has more upscale shops and restaurants. Also think about DryDock on Longboat Key. Make reservations at least a week in advance. Go out for a kayak trip. You will see dolphins, egrets and Great Blue Herons. We had our own personal Great Blue Heron that hung out at the pool and an egret that hung around also. You can rent a boat fairly close by but in the end we did not have enough time. It is about an hour to Busch Gardens in Tampa. Try not to leave the island after 3:00 PM. The traffic is very heavy. So stay near the house if you can and enjoy. The owner is terrific to deal with and very prompt in answering all our questions. In sum it is a terrific place to stay."

  • Hidden Gem in a Resort Town

"Our very first trip to the Gulf Coast and we've fallen in love! Brian's place is the perfect getaway for family relaxation. Longboat Key is more residential and therefore, a great place for peace and quiet. The pool, tennis, and gym are a great bonus. I am a teacher and traveled with my three teens: rising college freshman, high school sophomore, and eighth grader. We wanted the beach, and a cute place to play cards and cook meals together. This place delivered! All activities (ie. ice cream, shopping, piers) are well within driving distance. (I will say that next year my kids want to stay where there is a bit more action. Fickle teenagers!!!) Brian was responsive to inquiries and when a problem cropped up at the house during our stay, he was there and had the issue fixed within hours. Pleasant to work with via email and also meet in person! Thank you for sharing your place with us!"

  • Beautiful and clean, quiet and relaxing

"This condo is a beautiful and relaxing place to go for all ages. We have been going there for the last 5 years with our 2 kids. We have also stayed there once without our kids. The one bedroom is a perfect size for us with a living room and a kitchen with all amenties we need and a nice clean bathroom. Our kids love the pool as well as being able to be right on the gulf beach also. We have been able to enjoy the nice outdoor seating to watch the beautiful sunsets and have been lucky to see dolphins on the shoreline everytime we have stayed. It is close to lots of shopping like ST ARMANDS CIRLCE and many very good restrauants. You are also a short drive to many attractions like MOTE MARINA to see stingray and manitees and JUNGLE GARDENS in SARASOTA and PARASAILING IN SIESTA KEY OR BRADENTON and a huge flea market I would recommend. We were a short drive to SIESTA KEY BEACH AND BRADENTON AND ANNA MARIA ISLAND . This condo is a perfect location for any type of vacation. We would highly recommend it to friends and family. If you get a chance to stay here you will love it . Try it out. We will definitely be going back."
