  • Incredible getaway!

"This beach home is an absolute gem! Everything was just perfect. The owners keep a beautiful home, with a modern kitchen, spacious, screened in lanai, wifi, etc., everything you need for a relaxing, completely enjoyable stay. It is truly just a short walk to either the gulf side beach or the inland waterway, yet the neighborhood is quiet and off the beaten path. We will definitely want to book this again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!"

  • Great Home, Great Beaches= Great Vacation

"I have just returned home after spending a wonderful weekend with 5 old college girls celebrating our informal 30 year reunion. We had a glorious time due in great part to the spacious and relaxing accommodations and the wonderful nearby restaurants and the lovely beaches. Numerous beaches abound on Longboat and the couple that we frequented have white soft sand that feels great under your feet and the water was still warm enough to enjoy. The home has a wonderful open kitchen and family room which made it ideal to eat in and to relax, and a lanai with dining table as well as a full size hammock. We had a key lime dessert at a nearby restaurant that we walked to on the recommendation of the owner that was to die for and we returned the next 3 nights to sample another home made item. We all probably gained another 5 pounds! Oh well, I guess that's what vacations are for, aren't they?"

  • A Perfect Family Getaway

"We stayed at the house for a week during March 2014. We had my wife three children (adults) and my daughter in-law and two grandchildren. The house was perfect. Of course it always helps to have nice weather which we did. The house is well maintained on one of the finger streets on the north end of the island on the bay side. The kitchen is well laid out and reasonably equipped. We did a lot of cooking. There were even extras like spices and cooking oils available if needed. There is a master bedroom, and bath suite on the top floor. It is a lovely room with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the canal and the pool. The pool is heated and easy to control. The other bedrooms were also well laid out with clean modern baths. The neighbors are all friendly and have known the owners for years and seem very comfortable with guests staying in the house. The maintenance person is available and very helpful. The beach is about a ten minute walk. There are not many beach access points on Longboat Key but this is by one of them. You can park by the church and there always appeared to be spaces available but we ended up always walking. The beach is beautiful and fairly private. If you want the crowds go north ten minutes just over the bridge to Coquina Beach in Bradenton. It is a beautiful beach and you can get ice-cream and even a beer. Further north is more of what you would expect of a beach town, little shops, restaurants, pizza. Going south you are headed towards Sarasota and St. Armand’s Circle. It has more upscale shops and restaurants. Also think about DryDock on Longboat Key. Make reservations at least a week in advance. Go out for a kayak trip. You will see dolphins, egrets and Great Blue Herons. We had our own personal Great Blue Heron that hung out at the pool and an egret that hung around also. You can rent a boat fairly close by but in the end we did not have enough time. It is about an hour to Busch Gardens in Tampa. Try not to leave the island after 3:00 PM. The traffic is very heavy. So stay near the house if you can and enjoy. The owner is terrific to deal with and very prompt in answering all our questions. In sum it is a terrific place to stay."

  • Renter

"My wife and I, along with another couple, came to the house with our boat. The house is nicely appointed, and we couldn't have asked for much more with regard to where we could store our boat...right in the canal at the back of the house. We had a great time being able to access the Sarasota Bay area, and it was nice to not have to launch our boat every day. We also liked having two great restaurants within walking distance to the house. The owners worked great with us during the planning stages, and we were able to plan our vacation around various schedules. We will be back to this property given the wonderful nature of the house and the ability to have a great time and use our boat. I know the owners don't have a problem with pets, unfortunately, we couldn't have four people in a truck along with two dogs. Maybe next time we will take two cars and have our pets along as well. Nothing extra for having them enjoy a vacation with us at this property. Great place!!!"
