Cozy, Comfortable, Clean
"This condo is small, but perfect for a couple looking to completely relax and enjoy the warm sunshine of SW Florida. The place was spotless when we arrived and stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The owners were lovely to deal with and other residents polite and friendly. Daily walks on the beach, afternoon bobbing in the pool, and wonderful local restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The perfect antidote for de-stressing. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon."

"Split eleven wonderful days between 2 groups - my sister and 3 nieces and then my 3 sisters-in-law. What great memories we made! I've stayed in other beach front dwellings on both east and west coast of FL - This was by far the absolute best! It's amazing how such a gorgeously decorated condo could be so very comfortable at the same time. Everyone - from my 8 year old great-niece to my eldest sister-in-law (83 yo) – had the most delightful time! Condo is the perfect backdrop to enjoy your loved ones!
How relaxed we were! After a night in the most comfortable beds ever found in a rental, we’d gather one by one with coffee or tea on the lanai to enjoy the gulf front view. Then we'd walk along the beach looking for shells followed by cooling off in the pool. My sisters-in-law and I were thrilled to witness the Turtle Patrol setting boundaries around a new turtle nest (you could see the flipper tracks coming in from the water), as well as the Patrol assisting as necessary once a nest of eggs had hatched. (You have to get up early for this, but GREAT fun!)
We'd do a little souvenir shopping and riding about during the midday. The Beach Rd. Boutique is definitely worth a visit and there are super discoveries at the local Goodwill - Found glass bowls just right for pretty shells from the beach. Late afternoons were perfect for another trip to the beach and/or pool.
Perfect for homemade meals – kitchen is well equipped for food preparation! One night my nieces made delicious fish tacos using locally purchased shrimp and hogfish (never had it before) and black beans and rice. When my sisters-in-law came we enjoyed homemade Cuban sandwiches as good as any you'd buy in the Tampa area. My eldest sister-in-law made her family famous pasta salad - a tradition at our annual Girls' Getaway. In between we ate out - Don't miss the lobster bisque at Gulf View Bar and Grill! Be sure to try Zeke’s in historic Olde Englewood for their Crayfish Potato Nachos, and definitely don’t overlook Landy’s full menu with Seafood, Italian, and Greek specialties.
We were so sad to leave, but have made plans to return next year. Thank you, Jean, for what must be the easiest check-in on the face of the earth! Most especially, Debby, I thank you for making your exquisite home available for others to enjoy!"

"My husband and I stayed in the downstairs 1st Mates unit the first week of August with friends renting the upstairs, and another couple in an unrelated property. There are actually 3 units to this house with the owner occupying the other downstairs (all separate entrances). But don't let that deter you, it felt very private to me, as I only saw her upon check-in and she was usually gone. Nice because if we had needed anything we could just call her. She respects your privacy. My group enjoyed the outdoor patio area immensely after spending time on the beach. Generous amount of seating and a double chaise lounge is awesome! Outdoor shower nice too, to wash the sand off before walking inside. The grill is in good shape and worked well. I normally bring all my own linens, towels, cleaning supplies and rags to a beach rental. You never know. I was able to pack these things right back away in my vehicle. The place is very clean. The sheets were in good shape, the towels were fluffy. There was a ridiculous amount of bath and beach towels for a 1 bedroom unit. The AC kept us very comfortable. The kitchen is small but I found everything we needed. I saw no bugs at all inside which is impressive. I was dreading the walk to the beach carrying a lawn chair (because I'm a weakling - hubby had to carry his own and umbrella, etc.) but it was nothing. If I can do it anyone can. These are narrow lots, it is not a long walk. Found pleny of sharks teeth too! Oh and we do have 2 small dogs, we pulled some lattice across the gate area for them and everything was fine. I would rent here again, good price and cheerful decor. Things to do: we took a long ride to Sharkeys and it was worth it. Enjoyed their menu. And there are closer good restaurants and shops too. Publix and Bealls are only 5 minutes away if you need something. Also one day took the nearly 50 minute drive to Punta Gorda to a place called Fisherman's Village. It is an open mall type set up with a lot of touristy (not chain) places to shop and eat. Also worth the drive. Darlene must check out Pirates Ketch for copious amounts of mermaid themed items! Closer to home do not miss Zekes. Creative menu and unbelievably good prices for the talent in the kitchen."

"I have rented other properties over the years and I have to say this home was the best by far. My husband and I stayed for 1 week, we wished it was for much longer. The home is incredibly clean. The beds were most comfortable and the lines where of nice quality. The kitchen was filled with all the appliances you can ask for. The location is great. Outback actually more to the side is the lagoon where my husband enjoyed fishing and I enjoyed my morning coffee. We both enjoyed the manatees that visited mostly in the later afternoons. Across the main road (which is only a 2 lane road) and 1 block down (which was a total of maybe 5 house) you were at the beach. The beach itself felt like it was private. Collecting shells and sharks teeth was enjoyable. The owners provide you with bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas and a grill. I couldn't believe how they even provided dish detergent and toilet tissue and the necessary cleaning products to maintain the home while you were there, also emergency back up such as candles and flashlights. They have truly thought of everything. The only thing they ask in return is you treat their home as you would want your home treated and reasonable so!!!! The island itself is relaxing and enjoyable. Stumps Pass and the local eaters where wonderful. I must add I live in Florida year round and I feel I live in paradise to begin with but it is always nice to go visit another part of Florida and Englewood Beach was wonderful ."
