  • Paradise!

"We have been home a little over a week and can't wait to return to the Paradise Beach Home. It is paradise! We have stayed at various condos up and down Manasota Key, but staying in a house was a wonderful change. We arrived at the home in the early evening and were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and some lovely snacks. After traveling all day, it was a nice surprise. It was great to find a well equipped kitchen with spices (I love to cook) pots and pans, dishes, etc. The wrap around lanai is where we spent a great deal of our time. It was wonderful to sit and have coffee in the morning and dinner at night. We didn't spend much time on the deck as the sun was blazing and there is no shade, but in the cooler months, this would be the place to be! The view is amazing. We saw dolphins almost every day and saw manatees twice, I only wished we could have seen some of the turtles hatch. Maybe next time! Overall, it was the most peaceful and comfortable piece of Old Florida that anyone could ask for."

  • Great house!

"My family (which included our 2 yr. old grand child) spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Manasota Key. The house was perfect. Lots of room so no one is getting in each others way. (4 full bathrooms a BIG plus!) Everything was clean and orderly and ready for us on our arrival. The owners were very helpful and friendly. If you run into any problem at all, someone is there to take care of it right away. The kitchen is great---tons of room for more than one cook to work on meals. And the dining room is enormous. The Living room is very comfortable for lots of people to sit, watch TV, relax with a book, whatever. It's actually bigger than the photos show. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious. 2 master suites made everyone quite comfortable. Really. The photos do not do the house justice. Something to keep in mind...this is an older house. It was someone's HOME. Part of the charm is that it doesn't feel like a hotel room. It is clean and welcoming. It sits between the Gulf and Lemon Bay, so the location is amazing. Because of the natural foliage and walkway leading to the private beach, you feel like you are on your own island. This was our first family vacation in a very long time, and we loved every minute. We'll be back."

  • Beautiful, relaxing and amazing views

"This property is a perfect escape. A short walk to Manasota Key Beach or a 15 minute drive to dog beach up in Venice. The accomodations are beautifully decorated, the towels are soft, bedding crisp and clean, the kitchen is lovely and the view if amazing. Mike and Kathy are wonderful hosts and easy to get ahold of. Drawer in the kitchen with some of the previous tentants favorite places and menus close by, personal favorites Zeke's, Lock and Key and Cedar Fish Camp. For the fisherman, we caught Pompano, Red fish, Snook, a big ugly catfish and Sheephead off the dock. We spent many nights watching the fish jump and the dolphins feed 100 feet out of the back deck. This is a beautiful place and I hope to return soon."

  • Christmas Week in a beautiful house

"Exceptional in all regards. Great kitchen - we even found a potato masher for making mashed potatoes for our Christmas dinner. Comfortable beds and great pillows. Lots of beach towels. Views were exceptional - especially sunsets. Porches are wonderful - the teens found the back porch perfect for watching videos while sunning - away from the wind and close to the kitchen (drinks and snacks). Grandmother sat on the front porch when the beach was too hot (yes! hot in December!) Everyone had a favorite spot. Beach is just a few steps away. Great room on top floor was fun for all. Extra living room on bedroom floor is great for kids, but ours stayed in their room - I don't know why. Lots of movies, books, games, puzzles available (we did a puzzle but didn't use anything else). We were only 6, but there is a leaf for the dining room table when there are more. Everything is so well thought out. For example: the bedrooms each have a window over the door. We left a small lamp in the living room on all night and it was just enough light in the rooms for those who might need to get up during the night. Lynda and Barry are wonderful to work with and very helpful, flexible, easy going."
