  • Naples second time round

"My wife and I stayed at this wonderful house for 2 weeks during October and could not have made a better choice. Great location, we walked to the beach. Great facilities, beach equipment, bikes etc. Loads of space and storage and very well equipped. Very quiet and safe area, with a very private pool area. The owner Dan and his wife were in Naples for a break and he came round, sorted out a couple of minor issues very quickly and we were even lucky enough to bump into them one evening and enjoyed their great company. We would have no hesitation in staying here again."

  • Fantastic place-- close to the beach

"House is very nice and has a nice updated kitchen. The house is very nicely decorated with Mary Ellen's artwork. On this trip, we only had two adults and one 11 year old. We had tons of space. This house can easily accommodate 6-8 (using the couches to sleep). Bedrooms were comfortable and there were plenty of hangers and dresser space for clothes. Kitchen is very well stocked. We cooked in the kitchen every day-- except our day of arrival. It's always harder to cook in someone else's kitchen-- when you are used to your own. My advice is to bring a few of your "must haves" if you are able to-- particularly when driving. When we drive, I usually bring a few things that I'll want to have in the kitchen. This time, I brought (1) Espresso Coffee Machine, (2) Foreman Grill, and (3) a pot for making popcorn on the stove (so I didn't risk burning one of the house pots). We found the house to be a great balance of budget and location. It is cheaper than some places you'll find that are right on the beach. For the better price, you get being close to the beach-- instead of on the beach. The beach is 3/4 miles to the actual water. It's about a 10 minute walk to the public beach entrance (right next to entrance to Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park). It is a 2 minute drive to the beach. I recommend driving if you have gear. There is really no free parking at the public beach entrance. There is plenty of parking at the Delnor-Wiggins park for $6/day). The beaches were very nice / convenient. On one day, we ventured to Vanderbilt beach-- which is about a 10 minute drive to parking garage ($8 / day) followed by a 5 minute walk. Vanderbilt has a wider beach than Delnor-Wiggins pass and is more crowded. Both beaches are clean, well-maintained, with good facilities. I recommend researching both parks on the internet for additional details. Mary Ellen is extremely accommodating and easy to work with. You can't rent from a better owner. She obviously cares that her renters have a great experience. There are some basic, common-sense house rules that are easy to follow. The main rules were to keep sand out of the house and be careful with oil on the granite countertops. (Both of these you would do at your own house). We found the rules easy to follow. For sand, we always entered through the garage to drop off gear Then, we showed in the outdoor shower at the side of the house to rinse off any remaining sand."

  • Convenient, Clean, Renovated, Owner Easy to Work With

"This house is great for family use on a Vanderbilt Beach vacation. Home is clean and newly renovated. The owner Pam is very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to all inquiries and concerns. Location is just a short bike ride from public beach access (2 adult beach cruisers / 1 child's bike provided and there is also a bike rental shop 2 miles down the road). The neighborhood is more blue collar /working class in comparison to other areas of Vanderbilt Beach, but the home is nicely landscaped for privacy and the street is very quiet and safe. The pool and kitchen are perfect areas for family entertaining and hanging out. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and there are lots of pool toys to keep people of all ages entertained. We will definitely be recommending this house for family and friends."
