"House is very nice and has a nice updated kitchen. The house is very nicely decorated with Mary Ellen's artwork. On this trip, we only had two adults and one 11 year old. We had tons of space. This house can easily accommodate 6-8 (using the couches to sleep). Bedrooms were comfortable and there were plenty of hangers and dresser space for clothes. Kitchen is very well stocked. We cooked in the kitchen every day-- except our day of arrival. It's always harder to cook in someone else's kitchen-- when you are used to your own. My advice is to bring a few of your "must haves" if you are able to-- particularly when driving. When we drive, I usually bring a few things that I'll want to have in the kitchen. This time, I brought (1) Espresso Coffee Machine, (2) Foreman Grill, and (3) a pot for making popcorn on the stove (so I didn't risk burning one of the house pots). We found the house to be a great balance of budget and location. It is cheaper than some places you'll find that are right on the beach. For the better price, you get being close to the beach-- instead of on the beach. The beach is 3/4 miles to the actual water. It's about a 10 minute walk to the public beach entrance (right next to entrance to Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park). It is a 2 minute drive to the beach. I recommend driving if you have gear. There is really no free parking at the public beach entrance. There is plenty of parking at the Delnor-Wiggins park for $6/day). The beaches were very nice / convenient. On one day, we ventured to Vanderbilt beach-- which is about a 10 minute drive to parking garage ($8 / day) followed by a 5 minute walk. Vanderbilt has a wider beach than Delnor-Wiggins pass and is more crowded. Both beaches are clean, well-maintained, with good facilities. I recommend researching both parks on the internet for additional details. Mary Ellen is extremely accommodating and easy to work with. You can't rent from a better owner. She obviously cares that her renters have a great experience. There are some basic, common-sense house rules that are easy to follow. The main rules were to keep sand out of the house and be careful with oil on the granite countertops. (Both of these you would do at your own house). We found the rules easy to follow. For sand, we always entered through the garage to drop off gear Then, we showed in the outdoor shower at the side of the house to rinse off any remaining sand."Guest: Brian C. "This was our first trip to Naples for our party of 4 adults and 4 children with ages ranging from 14 months – 60 years old. We chose this house mainly because it was across the canal from my Dad and stepmother’s house, it had a screened-in swimming pool and beach access at the end of the street. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked and was used daily. The open floor plan made the house seem very spacious and allowed people in the kitchen to be part of the conversations going on in the other areas of the house. Next to the kitchen is a laundry room which is always nice to have, especially when you’re traveling with children. Pocket doors enabled us to close off the bedrooms so that people could enjoy an afternoon nap or just some quiet time. The large dining room table allowed the four generations to gather around for meals together usually followed by games. We also used the poolside grill almost every day as well. Several times we’d come back from the beach and the kids would shower off the sand outside then jump into the pool while we threw some hot dogs and hamburgers or bar-b-q on the grill. Since the pool and lanai are screened-in, a lot of time was spent outside because we didn’t have to deal with any pesky insects. Although we didn’t have a boat, the dock made it very convenient for my dad to come by and pick us up in his boat. The beach access was at the end of the street and led to a very nice, uncrowded area. Walking to the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets became a nightly routine. On the fourth of July, we walked to the beach to watch the fireworks then returned to the house and watched more fireworks up and down the canal behind the house. The festivities ended with an amazing firework display we watched through our front door, which was being shot off from a barge on the canal across the street from us! We loved everything about this house. There is a Trader Joe’s, Publix store and Super Wal-Mart just down the street and many restaurants and cafes in the area. Not only was my dad able to play several rounds of golf with his great granddaughter, he was also there when his youngest great grandson took his first steps and began walking all over the house by the end of our trip. Needless to say, some wonderful memories were made on this vacation and in this house!!! Thank you, Maureen, for making the rental process very easy and for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to return again next year!!!"Guest: Sharlie S. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 16, 2014View listing
"Spent a fabulous month of March in this beautiful condo. The location is just 5 minutes walk to Vanderbilt Beach and the Delnor Wiggins State Park. Just minutes from the beach but in a very quiet area with a gorgeous view of the back river. The condo is immaculately clean with granite counter tops and shinny new wood floors. Everything is provided from lots of high quality sheets, towel, beach towels, and beach chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with top quality pans, dishes, and was a delight for me as a cook. I plan to rent it again next year!"Guest: Elizabeth Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 11, 2014View listing
"My husband & I rented this condo from Scott Sorenson (the owner) & it was soooo beautiful. I am a foodie & love to cook. Found a farmers market w/fresh veges, fruit, fish, meats, & baked goods. Cooked several wonderful meals & everything was available in the gourmet kitchen. The master's king size bed was even more comfortable than my bed at home (which I did not think possible). Also, Scott was always there when I reached out with questions (even thou a couple were silly). Also, he provided paper goods & cleaners that saved us some $$$. Very thoughtful & excellent service. Again, thank you Scott for a wonderful memory."Guest: Poppy Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 4, 2014View listing
