  • Fantastic

"I am reluctant to write a positive review because selfishly I want this home to be available on our next trip to N. Captiva. Our family of 5 has just returned from the beach house and we had a great time. The house surpassed our expectations, was furnished with everything you could possibly need and we will definitely return. This was our first trip to the island and the owners were extremely helpful on providing information to make planning our trip stress free. Also, their local property management group was very helpful pre and post arrival. I have used VRBO in the past and never felt strong enough to write a review."

  • Perfect place for 2 families

"Seawatch was a PERFECT place for our 2 young families. On arrival day, we were greeted by the house manager, James, who was there to prep the house and give us an island tour on the golf cart. We've stayed at many luxurious rentals before, but we'd never once been greeted by an actual person when we arrived. It was truly a nice, welcoming touch and set the tone for a wonderful week. The house layout itself could not have been more perfect for our families. There is one master and another bedroom on the main floor, and a master and another bedroom on the floor above. It was ideal for our 2 families, as we have small children, and we each had close access to our kids at night, while still having our own "family" space. The kitchen is huge and worked great for meal prep. We rarely even noticed the 4 children under 5 years old running underfoot. :) We also loved that the floors are tile (rather than carpet), so we knew they were clean. Seawatch's "backyard" with both a beach and a dock was wonderful for us, since we brought our boat. It was easy to tie up, and the fishing off the dock was incredible. We saw dolphins almost constantly from Seawatch (no exaggeration!), to the point that when we'd tell the kids, "Look, dolphins!" they weren't even impressed by the 2nd day. :) A fantastic house, location and once-in-a-lifetime experience on North Captiva!"

  • Perfect family vacation

"We stayed at The Coral Reef for a week with two toddlers and 5 adults. It was a great house for us- close to the beach, a pool to use while the kids napped and accomodated all of us rather well. Mark and Sherman were very helpful any time we had questions or needed help. We loved cruising around in the golf cart, spending our days at the beach, seeing turtles all over the island and going to visit cayo costa (definitely a must-do)."

  • Perfectly relaxing!

"We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED staying here! The house was extremely clean and everything we needed was already thought of and ready for us including: plush beach towels, sand chairs, beach umbrellas, rain umbrellas, flashlights, binoculars, laundry soap, dryer sheets, floppy hats, beach toys, even extra sunscreen and a first aid kit. it and it's probably already provided. We've stayed at other rentals where the owner provides sample laundry soaps and one toilet paper per bathroom and we have to provide the rest, but not here! Beds were comfortable, towels fluffy and plush, decor bright and inviting. My husband loved cooking on the Weber grill (we did need to provide charcoal and lighter fluid) and now he wants one; the new washer and dryer were beautiful and now I want one, and the outside shower was a hit with my two girls who took more showers here than they do at home because they loved how warm it was. I advise bringing extra shampoo and soap just to keep in the outside shower and to bring more sunscreen than you think you will need. We went through 3 cans of spray sunscreen in 4 days and had to buy more on the island for $20/can. Lotion will probably last longer. We didn't want to buy a lot of bottled water and have to ferry it across, so I purchased a Whirlpool Everydrop filter before we arrived to filter the faucet water. It worked ok, but I realized you can buy gallons of water at the convenience store for about $3 which isn't too terribly expensive. We wanted to be able to use the resort pool during the week in case we got bored of the beach. Let Mary Beth know you are interested and for $75 you can use all of the resort amenities at North Captiva Island Resort for the week. We told her when we arrived and we picked up our resort key the next morning at the NCIR office. We took advantage of the pool, the pool bar, playground, kayaks and Boathouse restaurant, which was absolutely delicious. My husband loved fishing every day from the beach and renting jet skis; our girls (9 and 6) made friends with the kids staying nearby and thoroughly enjoyed playing on the beach, going to the pool, exploring the island and watching for manatees and dolphins. I loved doing nothing. :-) We also were blessed to have met some really nice people renting the houses nearby and made new friends. It was amazing how easily we adjusted to quiet island was a perfect vacation and we are counting down the days until we return."
