  • Great place

"Perfect place for boaters. The boat ramp is very close, and the property has ample space for parking. We took three vehicles and three boat trailers; parked them all with no trouble. We are all South Florida natives who wanted to get away for a short weekend. Even though we love and appreciate Charlotte Harbor every day, this was a perfect close get away. Matlacha is a special treat to visit with the art shops. Four Winds marina had the coldest beer ever. Wonderful views from every window. The owner was very accommodating as far as check in and out times. We would all go back."

  • Very quiet / secluded - perfect for couple

"If you really want to detach from reality, this is it. Very comfortable with just the right amount of practicality. Best beaches for swimming are on the other side of the island (2 minute golf cart ride). Fish from the beach 25 steps from your front door. Bring ice (store ran out one day). Gary is amazing... just a phone call away for any questions or last minute adjustments. We'll be back!"

  • Surrounded by Nature!

"We have been going to Sanibel and Captiva for a number of years and have stayed all over. This place has everything you need. A short walk through and past a couple units and you hit the white sand. This place has a screened porch which is great for outdoor dining and wonderful to watch an osprey, ibis or pelican fly around. It is nicely updated with a beach theme. If you bring or rent bikes, you can quickly get to the main strip for dining or shopping. It is also a short bike ride to the best ice cream you will ever have, Pinocchio's Ice Cream. It is all homemade there. This is nice living in old school FL and surrounded by nature!"

  • Christmas vacation

"What a pleasant stay!! Great communication between the owners and us from the time of reserving the dates, the night of arrival and once during our stay to see if everything was in order. This home was very well suited for our family of 4 plus our dog for a week's vacation. It was so nice to have our dog with us while traveling. For a dog friendly rental this was top notch. From the time we arrived we knew that this was going to be a great getaway from the cold Michigan winter. About the House: The kitchen was supplied with all the necessities for preparing and serving meals. The beds were quite comfortable and the house was spotless. Oh! and the shower head in the master bedroom was awesome. We enjoyed grilling steaks out back on Christmas day and having drinks under the lighted pergola. The location: The house was in a perfect location on the Island. We took evening walks every night around the neighborhood and down Gulf drive. You are just a block and a half away from the Gulf of Mexico and the beautiful sugar sand beach, great for your morning walks! Take a stroll to Ginny's and Jane's for breakfast or lunch. They have great homemade baked goods and handmade sandwiches. We did rent a golf cart from a local rental place off the island. They deliver and pick up right at the house, but be sure to make reservations in advance. Too fun! We have vacationed in Florida for the past 20 years and usually stay in Sarasota or Siesta key for the beaches. This was a refreshing vacation to stay in a place with a home town atmosphere. Very relaxing vacation, love the beach (walking, sunsets) the pier (fishing and people watching also dolphins) and the downtown boutiques (5 minute walk from house)."
