  • Perfect Stay!

"This home was perfect for our family of 7. The area has a variety of options for families, but our goal was to relax! The kids used the pool daily - very nice pool/patio. We used the grill a few times when Florida family visited. Property is in a nice neighborhood we were comfortable walking in. The kitchen has everything!! We did not eat out but a couple of times because of the convenience of the kitchen. The downstairs was private & the bath was convenient for use when lounging by the pool. The upstairs deck was a favorite for our toddler who loves to be outside as well as adults enjoying the screened area looking over the pool! The owner was a phone call or email away always with a prompt response. We also appreciated the WiFi & folder with area information. The garage made loading/unloading nice in out of the weather. Thank you Debra for a wonderful stay!!"

  • Location, Location, Location!

"It was such a treat being right on the water and having the boat docked there for the week. It's the perfect spot for any type of water activity and fishing. Plus, we were able to park our rv beside the house which made life much easier. Such beautiful views, so relaxing and peaceful. The dolphins put on a show for us most days. Looking forward to coming back!"

  • Peaceful

"We stayed here the week of Christmas and enjoyed every minute. Very peaceful and just a great feeling while you are here. Capt. Bob and Cathy were very cordial and warm personalities that we enjoyed sitting outside around the fire and talking to. Jeff & I really enjoyed the park that is very close to the property. If you like to walk or hike this park is perfect for either. We would recommend this "peaceful retreat" to anyone that wants to get away from the high rises and the busy part of Florida. Thanks again Capt. Bob & Cathy for an enjoyable time."

  • Great home and fun area...

"What a fabulous retreat from the cold and snow we would have been experiencing had we stayed up north! Instead of shoveling snow, we spent almost every evening watching the sun set while enjoying the nice hot spa. (It was a little cool for me to use the heated pool, although if we'd had kids with us, I'm sure they would have loved it!) This is a home that we could live in year round - the nicest vacation rental that we've come across, so far. Although we didn't need all the space (there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms), we very much enjoyed the large TV, cushy sofas, and good-sized master bedroom with attached bathroom. There were plenty of towels, including beach towels, and a nice washer and dryer. The house and the neighborhood seemed very pet friendly. There were folks out in the neighborhood walking their dogs, riding their bikes, and taking their boat out in the canal. There were a couple "resident" pelicans that we watched fishing in the canal most days. It didn't take us long to find several good restaurants in Palmetto (Riverhouse Reef and Grill for a special meal; Kostas or Popi's for breakfast or casual family dining) and Bradenton and beyond - plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy a nice meal. There's a good-sized outlet mall a few miles away, and plenty of "Florida" shopping in neighboring cities. We drove over to the gulf beaches a couple times and visited several Farmer's Markets (we liked Sarasota's) and Flea Markets (Red Barn in Bradenton). We loved visiting the Ringling Museums (especially the Circus Museums). We even spent a day at Busch Gardens! Lots of fun things to do in the area; you do need a car to take in all the possibilities."
