"What a wonderfully simple, relaxing place to stay. Kind of old-fashioned, but with everything you need (fridge, coffee maker). We stayed in the Snapper room, which was just a motel room (vs. an apt.) on the ground floor, and our door opened literally onto the shell beach. Sunrise was gorgeous. Our room was clean and comfortable, and very reasonable. One thing to note, since we're all so used to free "amenities" at the chain hotels: you're given bar soap, but no shampoo, conditioner or lotion."

"The owners were provided a lot of information on the area and things to do well in advance of our stay. All of them were excellent recommendations from day trips to restaurants. The home was well equipped with amenities to enjoy whatever trip you may take around Pine Island - fishing, beach enjoyment, kayaking. It was great not having to bother bringing towels, coolers, ice packs, etc. Cayo Costa is a must visit if you are staying on Pine Island or in the surrounding area. Couldn't have asked for a more involved owner. Thanks again!"

"This house meets all the needs of anyone who wants to take advantage of Pine Islands water sports opportunities. House has all the amenities including comfortable furniture, very good bedding and ice cold air conditioning. All furnishings are modern and functional as well as nice. The house is located near the entrance/exit to the deepwater canal for fast departure to fishing areas (5 minutes) and closeness allows for use of the kayaks provided by the owner. Good electrical and water outlets for battery charging and fish or boat cleaning. Trailer parking is on the side of house. We will return to this property."

"We had an amazing spring break trip here in March 2015. The Dutchess is beautiful. The owner is eager to help you make the most of your stay on Useppa - a magical hidden jewel of Florida. It is best to have access to a boat when staying on Useppa, as there are no boat rentals available on the island, and very few people available or willing to charter boating experiences. This was the only disappointing part of our stay, and a vacation feature that Useppa really needs to address and provide for visitors renting on the island. However, this is no reflection on the Dutchess property - its beauty, prime location, outstanding amenities and friendly/helpful owner. Kayak with manatees, visit surrounding islands and escape from the chaos of the mainland on Useppa!"
