"What a wonderfully simple, relaxing place to stay. Kind of old-fashioned, but with everything you need (fridge, coffee maker). We stayed in the Snapper room, which was just a motel room (vs. an apt.) on the ground floor, and our door opened literally onto the shell beach. Sunrise was gorgeous. Our room was clean and comfortable, and very reasonable. One thing to note, since we're all so used to free "amenities" at the chain hotels: you're given bar soap, but no shampoo, conditioner or lotion."

"My wife, adult daughter, and I rented this wonderfully comfortable home from May 2-9, 2015. We brought our 17 1/2 ft flats boat for fishing every day. Most important was the dockage. It was just great--a covered boat garage large enough to accommodate 2 flats boats, just down a few steps from the porch, complete with hose, electrical hook up, and a cleaning station, plus additional dockage for a third boat outside at the side dock near the cleaning station. Absolutely quiet water dockage on quiet canal. Best dockage location I have ever seen for a rental. Will definitely return. My wife liked the large amount counter space, comfortable beds, and the air conditioner was ample to cool the house on a very hot sunny day. Porch has ceiling fan with plenty of room to store rods, reels, tackle. Boat ramp only 2 blocks away and live shrimp at two marinas on the way out to the bay. The extra refrigerator in the garage was nice to store extra ice, beer, etc., and a new flat screen TV in the living room was a nice addition, complete with Wi-fi. My son and daughter-in law visited for part of the time so the house with 3 bedrooms accommodated 5 comfortably. Plenty of room for boat trailer storage in gravel space near the street. Lots of storage room in the garage. I could not ask for more, and the owner was extremely helpful and prompt in responding to questions. Fishing was great. We had very windy conditions for 3 days but could use Jug Creek to get out of the wind. Went down to Cabbage Key for lunch and out to Boca Grand Pass to view the Tarpon madness. Fished every day. I can't recommend this rental enough--you won't be disappointed!"

"Spent 3 winter months at the round house and going back next year. Love the ability to walk down the street and put kayaks in or take walks or bike rides for miles. Sunsets and watching the birds at eye level is great. Great semi-quiet island living."

"We had an amazing spring break trip here in March 2015. The Dutchess is beautiful. The owner is eager to help you make the most of your stay on Useppa - a magical hidden jewel of Florida. It is best to have access to a boat when staying on Useppa, as there are no boat rentals available on the island, and very few people available or willing to charter boating experiences. This was the only disappointing part of our stay, and a vacation feature that Useppa really needs to address and provide for visitors renting on the island. However, this is no reflection on the Dutchess property - its beauty, prime location, outstanding amenities and friendly/helpful owner. Kayak with manatees, visit surrounding islands and escape from the chaos of the mainland on Useppa!"
