Great villa in The Rotonda
"A lovely villa and very well appointed. Comfortable and very clean with lots of nice features (surround sound music, spa pool, spa bath, BBQ etc) The lanai and pool areas are a great place to watch the wildlife; alligator/turtles/herons. The location is great and very convenient for Stump Pass, Englewood, Sarasota etc, we were in Fort Myers two years ago but are now converts to this area of Florida. We had a great two weeks and would highly recommend this fabulous villa. It surpassed all expectations. Thanks Andy."

"We've been traveling from the UK to Florida for some 14 years. We have had a thoroughly relaxing four week holiday, location just perfect, with a lovely view of the water and the wildlife. The villa was just right, nice sized rooms, lovely warm pool and the spa was excellent. Property was well-maintained, clean and well-equipped (the new big screen TV is like sitting in a cinema but a joy to watch). The owners, who live locally are delightful and contacted us to make sure we had settled in ok. Lots to do in the area - all the usual restaurants but off the beaten track a bit are places like the Loose Caboose and South Beach Bar and Grill on Boca Grande (try the seafood strudel.. yummy) and a lovely bar just off Englewood Beach (Beaches Down Under) under another restaurant. The Fisherman's Village at Punta Gorda has lots of shops, boutiques and restaurants and you can get boat trips here too. Dearborn Street in Englwood has a Classic Car event first Saturday of the month - lots of superb vintage cars to view. Do try and get to Sarasota or St Armand's Circle - again lots of shops, restaurants (love the The Columbian) and there is a classic car museum (free entry) in Venice which is just big enough for a quick tour if you have a spare 40 minutes or so - view The Green Hornet's car, two Bat mobiles and the Monkey Mobile alongside some very special other classic vehicles. Venice is a nice short trip but some interesting shops (love the Venice Stationers) and the Coffee Shop, which also has a mean wine cellar. Local shops include Winn Dixie, Publix and of course Walmart...staff always helpful and a superb range of foodstuffs and groceries. Some of the smaller shops in the area are also very interesting and useful and it is often just easier to drive into the lot and have a look around. We have to go to Disney and usually travel up through the centre of the State rather than going on the Interstate, simply to see some of the fascinating sights, ranches, vegetation, orange groves and small bars and eateries (!) It's always nice to return to the villa after these short breaks - a holiday within a holiday. Always a good idea to get a local map or coupon magazine that have lots of suggested sight-seeing tours and activities. Fort Myers is delightful and can even get the Express fastcat boat to the Keys from there.
We had a lovely vacation, very restful, lots of sun and we would highly recommend this villa.."

"We enjoyed our stay immensely! Mr. Johnston is a wonderful owner/manager and took care of all our needs. The home is extremely well equipped. Perfect for families. Beds are very comfortable, linens soft and inviting. I used the kitchen a lot and didn't lack for anything. All the positive reviews before mine are true, I simply echo their sentiments. Great bargain, you will not be disappointed. Home is very clean, pool very well maintained, yard trimmed and neat, neighborhood VERY quiet. Nearby beaches were wonderful. Plenty to do within a decent drive to keep you busy and happy. Good restaurants also available. We wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to return."

"We just returned from staying 9 days at this wonderful villa and loved every minute of it. The house was clean and very comfortable, with just about anything you would need. It was large enough that the two of us couples didn't get in each other's way. The pool is fabulous, and I must admit, I spent most of my time while we were at the house out on the lanai. Mother Nature was especially good to us, we had excellent weather with highs in the low 80's and low humidity. I am glad we had our GPS, though, as it could be confusing entering and leaving Rotonda, but after a few days, we had no problems. Englewood Beach is within 15 minute drive. We drove up to Siesta Key one day (about 30 minutes away) and down to Ft. Myers Beach another day (about an hour). We went on a dolphin watch cruise around Lemon Bay with Lemon Bay Tours, highly recommend. All in all, I would definitely love to return to Rotonda West, and I would most definitely rent this villa again!"
