  • So close to the beach!

"We stayed at one of the condos at Sandy Bend, a small complex of 8 units. Our condo had a fantastic view of the ocean from the double wide lanai, and was not only screened in, but had sliding glass doors if one wanted to use the a/c but still sit there and enjoy the views. The manager was friendly and most accommodating, arranging a very last minute, day before arrival, stay. Parking is right at the building, and there is an elevator to use which came in handy while carrying in luggage and groceries which I recommend you buy before you cross the causeway to Sanibel because groceries are very expensive on the island. There are beach chairs and loungers out in front of the building which you can take to use on the beach, with no extra charge. The condo was well-appointed, with furniture that was Floridian without being kitschy. We had two users of laptops and there were no issues whatsoever with the internet. One note is that there is no pool. Also, the rate was a bit spendy but the view and the proximity to the beach makes the price well worth the splurge for a fabulous stay. And, of course, shelling was great!"

  • Fantastic vacation at Shell Islnad Ceah Club!

"Love the location and the resort. The only issue we had with the condo was the carpet. It was old and looked/felt dirty. Tile throughout woud be so much better. Other than that Shell Island is our resort of choice at Sanibel. The stairs could be a problem for some people but it didn't interfere with the great time we always have at Shell Island."

  • Hideaway Court on Sanibel Island

"Our stay was everything we hoped for and the Sea Oats location was perfect. This private well furnished and maintained home on Hideaway Court has all the basic needs for a comfortable holiday including fast WiFi Internet for those who can't live without it! We had use of beach chairs and parasol that were easily transported to the beach using the trolley provided. We also had use of fishing rod and reel. The outside deck overlooking the spacious pool area was a relaxing place to sit any time of the day without the worry of the dreaded no-see-ums. Two years ago we stayed at Mitchell's further along the prestigious West Gulf Drive in their beach cottage closest to the sea (Ocean Mist). We chose this home this year trading the sea view for private pool and fewer evening bugs. It was a good trade off, and the short walk or cycle to the beach via the short-cut meant the sea was never far away. We had a magical day on a deck boat rented from Port Sanibel Marina where we saw Dolphins up close, walked our favourite beach at south Cayo Costa and lunched at Cabbage Key. McCarthey's Marina on Captiva was great for Dolphin spotting and Manatees, and the sun set at Bowman's Beach was always spectacular. Doc Ford's is still our favourite restaurant with Yucatan Shrimp being my favourite dish. The ribs, burgers and paella are also good! Having the four bicycles was such a bonus. The cycle path down alligator alley before Rabbit Road, up to Doc Ford's then on to J.N. "Ding Darling" was a nice short ride, but our favourite ride was along West Gulf Drive to Tarpon Road, then up Tarpon Road to Baileys Tract and back. We have been so lucky to experience paradise on Sanibel Island twice in as many years. Is it too much to want to come back for for? !!"

  • Loved our week at Pointe Santo!

"This is a lovely condo at a great location! The ground floor makes access to the beach and pool so easy. The beds were all very comfortable and we found the kitchen well stocked. There were plenty of towels for the whole family. The owners were wonderful to us. We can't wait to come back next year! Sanibel is one of our favorite places. The beach volleyball was a big hit with our kids!"
