"My family has stayed at this vacation home before and we love it. It is in a lovely section of Sanibel - on the West end where it is less touristy. The home is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach (which is never crowded). The beach sunsets are breathtaking - my husband and I walked down with a glass of wine nearly every night to watch them!
The pool, which is screened in so bugs are never an issue, is extremely private and surrounded with tropical trees and foliage.
The house is truly beautiful and immaculately clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need. Everything is so new, fresh, clean and very tastefully decorated. The beds are so comfortable my husband and I joked we fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
The owner Dawn has always been a pleasure to work with and she genuinely tries to make sure you have the best vacation possible!
We will definitely return again - it feels like home as soon as we step in the door!"

"[This review assumes you know Sanibel]
-- One short block from the beach; short ride on bike path to Schnapper's Hots; ~2 mi. to Pinocchio's Ice Cream and the lighthouse; 6 mi. to Ding Darling
-- Photos are accurate; notice the large propane grill on the deck
-- Stocked with beach furniture, coolers, towels, flashlight, all cooking tools, dish soap, laundry soap, salt/pepper, coffee filters, books, DVDs, etc... Pack light!
-- Good wi-fi and TVs
-- Very very clean
-- Comfortable beds and couch
-- [a minor one] Beware: There are 2 properties next door to each other called "Shell Basket 1" -- this pink one and a blue one (with a pool). If you get a delivery it may go to the wrong place (even if you tell Billy's Bikes the exact address, 1153 Nerita St.)
-- Shower faucet is odd and gives you choice of cool water or scalding (but cool is fine on sunburn!)
-- Manager is nearby but a bit hard to reach in advance for questions -- hopefully this review will answer some."

"We absolutely fell in love with Palm Paradise. The beautiful setting, close proximity to the beach, and the comfort of this gorgeous home made us feel really at home immediately. The furnishing and decor were perfect, and the pool area, surrounded by lovely flowering shrubs and lush foliage was a joy. There was so much space, along with everything you might need and so much more. We enjoyed the beach equipment and the bikes, and early mornings and evenings spent on the terrace lazing on the wicker chairs was so nice. A lovely spot for listening to the birds or reading.
We found the wildlife fascinating - birds, lizards, frogs, occasional snake (harmless) not to mention the ibis, great egret and cardinals that visited. Osprey circled above frequently.
We were lucky enough to spot a bobcat one night as we returned from a restaurant, and at J N Ding Darling and the Bailey Tract, we saw alligators and racoons.
The photos of the house don't show how spacious it really is and I can honestly say that having rented many homes on Sanibel and Captiva, including one very expensive Captiva beach house, this house is our favourite. It was a joy to spend time there and I really hope we will return. It was well worth the nine hour plus flight!"
