"We enjoyed the warm weather in Florida and the stay at Dolphin House very much. There was plenty of space and we found everything we needed."

  • Trip of a lifetime

"This was our second time staying on Sanibel. We thought we were hooked the first year but after staying in this gorgeous beach house we have fallen in love. Our first year on Sanibel was in a resort setting which was also beautiful. But nothing will compare to the privacy and beauty of this house. The photos online are beautiful however cannot do justice to the real beauty of this house. The kitchen is by far the best part of the house. It is GIANT and to say it is beautiful is an understatement. Fully stocked with everything you could need as well. All the decor in the house is wonderful. The house was absolutely spotless on arrival, and like I said the pictures don`t do it justice. The private backyard oasis is what made the vacation for us. We are beach lovers so we spent every single day on the beach but by 5 o o`clock when our small children had enough ocean water they loved coming back to our personal heated pool. Next to the pool was a garage stocked with EVERY SINGLE pool toy or beach toy you could ever need. Including a beach trolley with chairs for the beach to make transporting all your toys (and coolers) to the beach easy. Not that it was far, open the gate and it is about a 30 second walk to the beautiful Sanibel beach. The house only has two bedrooms but one of them has an extra daybed which was perfect for our 3 year old. Also, next to the pool there is a separate guest bedroom with it`s own keyed access. We did not need this room but would love to go back with our family so we could use it! We loved the quiet private street that the house was on and loved taking the bikes that were provided to the store everyday. I would highly highly recommend this house to anybody!!"

  • Island living at its best

"My sister and I stayed in this adorable home. Easy, easy walk to the beach !! A covered deck accessible from bedrooms and living area with stairs to the pool all inside a two story lanai made relaxing poolside a joy. Bike paths on the island make local travel fun. The owners are friendly & knowledgeable of island life. Will visit again soon."

  • Hideaway Court on Sanibel Island

"Our stay was everything we hoped for and the Sea Oats location was perfect. This private well furnished and maintained home on Hideaway Court has all the basic needs for a comfortable holiday including fast WiFi Internet for those who can't live without it! We had use of beach chairs and parasol that were easily transported to the beach using the trolley provided. We also had use of fishing rod and reel. The outside deck overlooking the spacious pool area was a relaxing place to sit any time of the day without the worry of the dreaded no-see-ums. Two years ago we stayed at Mitchell's further along the prestigious West Gulf Drive in their beach cottage closest to the sea (Ocean Mist). We chose this home this year trading the sea view for private pool and fewer evening bugs. It was a good trade off, and the short walk or cycle to the beach via the short-cut meant the sea was never far away. We had a magical day on a deck boat rented from Port Sanibel Marina where we saw Dolphins up close, walked our favourite beach at south Cayo Costa and lunched at Cabbage Key. McCarthey's Marina on Captiva was great for Dolphin spotting and Manatees, and the sun set at Bowman's Beach was always spectacular. Doc Ford's is still our favourite restaurant with Yucatan Shrimp being my favourite dish. The ribs, burgers and paella are also good! Having the four bicycles was such a bonus. The cycle path down alligator alley before Rabbit Road, up to Doc Ford's then on to J.N. "Ding Darling" was a nice short ride, but our favourite ride was along West Gulf Drive to Tarpon Road, then up Tarpon Road to Baileys Tract and back. We have been so lucky to experience paradise on Sanibel Island twice in as many years. Is it too much to want to come back for for? !!"

Private Homes Travel Tips

Sanibel Island Vacation Rentals: Experience the Waves

Nestled within the Gulf of Mexico is Sanibel. This island waits beyond Florida's western borders, connected only through a massive bridge. It's formed to sand and lush forests, creating a reputation without peer. Families wanting a diverse adventure will find much to celebrate here. It's small town charm sprawled across tropic scenes. It will amaze. And Sanibel Island vacation rentals will do the same: offering the comfort you need for the cost you can afford. The sea is now accessible.

Sanibel Island Cottages: The Importance of Location

There is little logic in seeking out Sanibel and then staying on the mainland. You want a secluded experience, not another hotel. You don't want the causeway to become a barrier, separating you from all you love. That is why you need Sanibel Island beach homes. These convenient alternatives will allow you to remain amongst the wild. You will not have to leave. You will instead just have modern amenities within natural beauty. It's a vacation without worry.

Sanibel Island Beach Homes: Find Your Thrills

After languishing within Sanibel Island cottages, you'll then wish to experience all the joys beyond. There are many. Begin the morning by biking the Rabbit Road Trail, where its namesake creatures will appear in the early hours (as well as an assortment of birds and other wildlife). Let the Sanibel Island Cruise Line take you into the waves, providing scuba diving and dolphin watching. The Tarpon Bay Explorers will lead you through the National Wildlife Refuge, offering pristine views and creature sightings. Take a break from the sun with the Islander Trading Post, perfect for antiquing. And then drive to the Big M Casino to test your fate. It's the fun you need.

Sanibel Island Vacation Rentals: Play, Always

A trip is meant to be enjoyed. Now it can be. With Sanibel Island cottages, you'll be near the adventure and away from the frustrations.
