"My husband, 3 children, and I just returned from a week long stay at this property, and it was nothing short of perfect! First, the community (Sunset Captiva) is wonderfully maintained. The grounds, landscaping, boardwalk, pool, grills, etc are clean and in perfect condition. I chatted with the maintenance manager (very friendly gentleman) and thanked him for doing such a great job with everything. He noted that the HOA/residents are all very willing to pay for whatever is needed to maintain the property...and it really shows! Second, the home itself is in wonderful condition and is stocked with every convenience we wanted/needed. It's tastefully decorated...definitely "Florida", but very pretty colors and decor, not tacky at all. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and there were plenty of beach towels and linens. I was worried the house might be too small for our family of 5 since it's "just" a 2 BR, but it was very spacious and the 5 of us never felt crowded at all. Plenty of seating with couches (very comfortable!) and chairs and tables. The home was very close to the pool and the beach. There were more than enough beach chairs/umbrellas/toys, all in like new condition. The beach was PERFECT and never overly crowded, even though is was 4th of July week. All in all, a perfect vacation that we will never forget, and a very reasonable price. I would recommend this home to anyone! Thanks Carole!!!"

"The location is great. 90 second walk to a great beach and 2 minutes to dining. Very lush property and nice pool. The place needs painted and the linens need thrown away. They need all new towels and bed linens/pillows. These place gets overrun with tiny ants, maybe this is normal for Florida? They do have bug spray but the ants even found food we stored in the microwave! We used Jerry's in Sanibel to stock with groceries before we arrived and this worked out great. The price of the house was half of the cost of properties on the same street so if you want to save money and have a great location but put up with a place that is a little rough then this is a good choice. Bring sheets!"

"Byrds Nest is exactly as described. This unit is clean and comfortable, it is probably 100 yards from the beach, and the owner was very responsive to our questions and needs. We found the condo to have everything needed for a Sanibel beach vacation. The keyless entry is a great feature. The pool is close to the unit and was also well maintained."

"We've rented this unit several times and love it. It is spacious, well equipped, clean, nicely decorated, with an open floor plan and huge deck such that the ocean is always in view. The shelling and birding are awesome. We watched both sunsets and sunrises here and loved walking the beach. We visited Ding Darling early morning, at low tide, for the tram ride, and for a canoe trip at sunset. Always wonderful. Sanibel is a great choice for a winter warm up and this is a great rental unit."
