"Finally, our family had the opportunity to experience a very special, unique place to stay. We must travel frequently and tire of the cookie cutter hotel rooms. Spending several days as a guest in the Alfred Ringling home (as in "Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus) was a treat we jumped at . . . and were not disappointed.
The home appears small and ordinary from the outside, but looks are deceiving. Upon walking through the front door, it was like watching Mary Poppins pull a feature magazine spread from Architectural Digest out of her carpet bag. Pure luxury and every amenity provided. Even though this historic home will be 100 years old in 2018, it is clear that the owners and caretakers have been careful to preserve the unique architectural detail of the interiors while updating the large kitchen and multiple baths.
Work is still being done to preserve the exterior of the home and there was evidence of updated landscaping in progress along with new tropical trees and plants which will probably look gorgeous upon turning in the drive way a few years down the road. But the beautiful pool in the back of the Ringling home more than made up for the in-progress updates on the street side. The pool, surrounded by a variety of tropical plantings, anchors the backyard and every door and window on the privately enclosed backside of the home drinks in a view of that oasis from the heat. Hope we can get back this way again. It will be a pleasure to watch our children and grandchildren splash in the pool while I enjoy a lovely glass of wine sitting in the great room- and "great room" is an understatement.
Just have to figure an excuse to get back to Sarasota again."

"Stayed here in March, the house was clean and well stocked. The owner was very friendly and very easy to get ahold of, she answered all my questions promptly. Called the owner and talked to her to ease my mind since this was the first time booking thru VRBO, she was very helpful and put my mind at ease, gave me tips about the area! The house was in a great location on a nice quiet street, short driving distance to the beaches and shopping at St. Armands Circle with plenty of shops , restaurant's and ice cream places! Lots of other eating options in the Sarasota area. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone. The listing and photos were accurate on the website. Everyone had a great time and the weather was absolutely amazing!! Thanks for an uncomplicated stay! I would stay here again and I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the SW Florida area."

Second year to spend a month here and it is an exceptional place to stay!
"First- the villa: convenient to everything you need and most of what you didn't even know you needed but now want! Extremely well cared for villa home that is immaculate, and so very comfortable. At 1400 sq. ft. it is quite spacious, and the attached garage is a bonus. It is quiet in the enclave, and so if you like to party hardy, this is NOT the place for you. In fact, if you kept me up all night acting like drunken fools I wouldn't hesitate to call the police. And I'm betting so would the villa owners who live in the complex year round.
There are a lot of returning guests year after year, with a heavy concentration of Europeons. It seems the word is out in Germany, in particular, that Village des Pins is a great place to stay.
Next: the owners, Sandy and Doug. Nicest people ever! Dealling with them is always pleasant and they have a great fund of knowledge about great places to eat out. The lady from the management company, Mary, gets things done quickly and efficiently.
Older clientele stays here, for the most part, and that helps keep things quiet and very, very pleasant."

"In our first time in Sarasota, we found this wonderful home in which to explore Sarasota. The home was well equipped with everything we needed; the rooms were large enough to make it a very comfortable stay. The location next to the Ringling Museum and the New College, where there were numerous evening lectures and programs were a real plus. Daily walking in the neighborhood and ease of driving to downtown, or to beaches on Lido and Siesta Key, shopping on St. Armands Key, trips to Bradenton, Anna Maria Island and many other destinations made this a very nice location. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a single family property in a great neighborhood."
