  • Siesta Holiday House Delivers!

"My two friends and I were looking for the perfect getaway vacation for Labor Day weekend. We decided upon Siesta Keys as none of us had been there and we found this gem through VRBO and can't be more than thrilled we stayed here. The accommodations and the whole process was seamless and just absolutely fantastic. The amenities were great and the beach was literally within 100 yards. The fully stocked kitchen and grill was great for home cooking and the location was well within range to take a quick drive to a nearby restaurant. Overall I would recommend this place to everyone who is interesting in a place at Siesta Key!"

"As long as you aren't a beach bum this is the perfect place to be in Sarasota. Apartment is well appointed and comfortable; landlords are friendly, helpful, and on the premises. We loved it."

  • Impressive house

"Brenda/Peter are very easy to work with making the whole experience a much better value. From inquiring to closing the deal to emailing during the vacation to checking out, everything was very smooth and they were very responsive! Short and to the point, I will list out all of the pros and cons! Pros: - This house beat everyone's expectation, the pictures do not do it justice, AT ALL!! - The sound system was a huge bonus, they have it hooked up to indoor and outdoor speakers with a box to control the speakers. This was great for when we wanted it quiet inside the house but music playing outside. Every house needs this! - Clean, plenty of towels, spacious. It made the stay very entertaining Cons: - Neighbor. On our first night we were confronted with a drunk neighbor who decided to walk in through the front door of the house, with a lit cigarette and beer in hand to yell at us about how loud we were. It was 7:30pm on a Thursday. You could barely hear the music from the other end of the yard. Simply rude and disrespectful. In return we get woken up at 6am from him doing construction on his house. The next day his wife/girlfriend yelled at us for parking in the street, in front of her house. Off of her grass, not blocking the driveway at all, yet she decided to cause a scene and threatened to call the cops on us if we didn't move it. Also their dog likes to run around the neighborhood in the morning without a leash. All morning long the owner is chasing his dog around.. - Not really a con, but the hot tub isn't quite a hot tub, more or less a jacuzzi, so it is pool water temperature with some jets - WiFi is very weak, no matter where you are in the house, the connection was very slow or weak We are a group of young adults that had no intentions on making this a party house, if it wasn't for the neighbor, I would rate it 5/5"

  • Beautiful Location

"This second floor condo has a beautiful east-facing view of a small lake and a golf course. It is exceptionally clean with easy access to the beaches, downtown and a major shopping area. The only minor drawbacks: You can hear the faint hum of traffic on I-75 pretty much 24/7. It's most noticeable in the morning. Also, they told us they have had to call Comcast out repeatedly to little avail. Consequently TV reception is unreliable. Hopefully by next time that issue will have been resolved and more information will have been provided to guests regarding WIFI access, local attractions, dining out, proper management of recyclables, etc."

Sarasota Travel Tips

Sarasota offers visitors an excellent array of cultural attractions, dining experiences and outdoor activities.

Of course, while visiting Sarasota you'll want to spend ample time on the sandy shores getting that perfect tan, catching up on reading, cooling off in the bright blue waters and building the world's greatest sand castle, and there's plenty of space on the beaches to do all that and more during your vacation.

When you're ready to head inland, a variety of local restaurants await you to fill you with delicious flavors - especially fresh seafood - and provide you with a delightful night out. You can also spend time learning about the history and culture of this Floridian city as you explore the architecture, museums and even the circus.

Things to Do in Sarasota

- The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art: If you've been a long-time fan of the circus, art and the Ringling Brothers, visiting the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and the Circus Museum are musts on the Sarasota to-do list. The Museum of Art boasts 21 galleries featuring paintings from Europe, contemporary art from Asia and America and Cypriot antiquities. There's currently more than 10,000 works in the collection in mediums such as painting, photography, sculpture, drawings and decorative arts. Some of the most treasured masterpieces are from Peter Paul Ruben, Marcel Duchamp, Rosa Bonheur, Benedetto Pagni, Joseph Wright of Derby and more. And if you love the magic of stepping into the big tent, be sure to also swing by the Circus Museum, where you'll find performing props, wardrobes and equipment like parade wagons and a person-shooting cannon. You'll also see a variety of 19th and 20th century posters and learn all about the history of "the greatest show on earth."

- Sarasota Jungle Gardens: Nature and animals lovers will certainly appreciate the Sarasota Jungle Gardens, which is one of the oldest continuously run attractions in Florida. Here you'll find more than 150 animals, both native and exotic, including parrots, birds of prey, primates, snakes, alligators, small mammals and flamingos - a huge draw here - throughout the 10 acres of tropical landscaping. The recently installed Flamingo Cam offers 24-hour viewing access to the flock of pink birds.

- Ca' d'zan Mansion: This amazing house is A 56-room Venetian Gothic-inspired structure that was formerly the Ringling family's home. The mansion covers 36,000 square feet and stands five stories tall. Take a guided tour of the palace and you'll feel like a personal guest of the Ringling family as you hear stories and information about them as well as the home itself.

- Siesta Beach: For eight miles you'll experience the city's gateway to the Gulf of Mexico. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the laid-back, relaxed vibe, calm waters of the Gulf and the unbeatable sunshine.
