  • Beautiful Setting, Beautiful Home, Beautiful Hostess, Beautiful Time!

"We stay in lots of vacations rentals & #31998 was way beyond our expectations!! My husband, kitten & I had a fine time in this wonderful location. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful restored barn door dining table (seats 8) and large kitchen island overlooking the DR & LR & seating 3 comfortably. Lots of natural light in this cheerful area. The front porch is great with a table for 4 & the back yard area with grill is terrific. The house is beautifully appointed and the kitchen has all the utensils & equipment needed to prepare a meal any "foodie" would be proud of. The entire house was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS. We used one BR as a dressing room & did not use the bed but it felt comfortable & the linens were great. Our bed was extremely comfortable. There are all kinds of condiments in the kitchen as well as useful soaps, shampoos & other goodies for your use in the bathrooms. A block away from this little jewel of a house is the Lido Beach Resort with an excellent Penthouse Restaurant facing the Bay & the beautiful lights of Bradenton were Fantastic..excellent meal & service! Also 1 block from the house in this pleasant neighborhood is the large Lido Beach pool (a very tiny use fee), & the excellent little Outdoor Grill. The Beachfront in Feb. was not overcrowded, and umbrellas & chairs can be rented. The restrooms are clean & there is a little shop to buy beach necessities. In the pool & exterior Grill area, there are large picnic tables for public use. Our little group (2 couples) had a "Baked Bean Cook Off". We recruited 3 judges in the Grill area. Spouses of the judges joined in on the fun and we had other visitors from across the US come over to visit with us. Everyone is friendly & super cordial on Lido Beach & the immediate neighborhood of the house. Of course the selection of fine cuisine at St. Armands Circle was enjoyed immensely by us and our WI "dayguests" staying nearby. Shopping at St. Armands is fantastic too. We cannot say enough about our gracious hostess. The little button on the garbage disposal stuck momentarily and when we returned from lunch, the plumber was there to fix this minor problem. Nancy even has an emergency Veterinarian info posted on the fridge--so thoughtful. We recommend this property without reservation. It's a great value in the BEST location. We can't wait to go back! We know you will feel the same way as you begin planning your visit, as well as when the visit is over. GREAT PLACE GREAT KARMA!!!"

  • Good owners

"We stayed here for three months, January February March 2015. The first impression we had was spacious, open, bright, airy, clean and neat. The kitchen was sunny and well equipped. The entire house is pretty well stocked with cleaning supplies, light bulbs, extension cords... everything we needed was there. I think because the owners sometimes stay there, they KNOW what it needs. Dorothy is the person we talked with. She is very nice and kind, and seems to respond to emails instantly. The owners have some kind of insurance on the rental so if anything goes wrong with plumbing or appliances, a repair person can be there the next day. The beds and all the furniture in the house are comfortable. The house is nicely decorated. There’s lots of storage space both in closets and in the garage. The neighbors on either side are friendly, but also respect your privacy. There is a big, fenced backyard with a grill and a tented patio with table and chairs to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. One of the neighbors serves as a caretaker, too. He helps out when problems occur. If you like to bus, there are two bus routes with bus stops just 2 blocks away. If you like to walk to get your groceries, a Neighborhood Walmart, Publix, and Big Lots are just a 15 minute walk. If you like to walk for exercise, nearby neighborhoods are quiet, well kept, and open. Siesta Beach and Lido Key are about 20 minutes driving. Downtown Sarasota with a zillion restaurants is about 15 minutes away, with free parking. Or, there are four pizza places and a new hot dog stand 5 minutes walking distance from your front door!"

  • This place is really nice!

"When I first entered the villa, I said "Wow! This place is really nice." It was super-clean, recently remodeled, and has ultramodern appliances, a big living room and master bedroom, good WiFi and cable channels, 3 HD TVs and plenty of room. It's right across from the community center with a large well-heated swimming pool and gas BBQ grills. The service from the rental agent Mary was first rate and immediately responsive. The location is perfect for all that Sarasota has to offer. It's close to the beaches and only about a 15 minute drive to Sarasota's cultural center with a concert hall, live theaters, world-class art museum and good restaurants. There's plenty to do in the immediate neighborhood, too, as it's 5 minutes from the mall with 12 movie screens. We went to Sarasota for some winter hiking, for which this villa is ideal. It is only 10 minutes from Oscar Scherer State Park and 15 from Myakka River State Park, which are great places to hike in the winter with well marked, dry, beautiful trails. After a day of hiking, we returned to the comfort and luxury of this modern spacious villa."
