  • Peaceful and Relaxing

"We (a married couple) used to live in Sarasota and had to return for a visit at very short notice. We were incredibly pleased to find this refreshingly quiet and peaceful apartment, especially since at lot of Sarasota apartments on VRBO are near busy Siesta Key, and we wanted to be somewhere less congested. The apartment is located on the ground floor and at the end of the building, which affords a side window that the middle apartments would lack. There wasn't anyone staying above us or to the left, so we never heard any neighborly sounds. The apartment was clean, spacious and open, and although some of the furnishings and appliances are a bit dated, everything worked well. Over a 37-night stay we didn't have a single maintenance issue. The sofa is comfortable, and there's a recliner and several armchairs. There's a big dining table which was great to work on. The master bedroom is large and the bed is firm but comfortable. The kitchen is a good size and very well stocked. You can tell that the owners spend time there because it had everything we needed. The washer and dryer are only a year old and were very useful. One of the apartment's best features is an abundance of natural light, and the apartment has been decorated tastefully with light colors to take advantage of that. The covered lanai was a great place to relax and eat meals. You're right by the lake and you frequently see ducks and various birds. The apartment is in a community called the Meadows, which has been designed with lots of green spaces and a number of lakes. There's a walking trail nearby and a pristine nature reserve about a 10-minute walk away. We walked every evening and enjoyed spotting turtles and alligators in the ponds. Most of the neighbors are elderly and seemed very friendly. The Meadows is about 15-20min from the beach, but it's very close to shops and restaurants on Fruitville Rd and University Pkwy, and it's only 3-5min from the new mall. There's also a small shopping center about a 2-min walk from the apartment that contains a restaurant, a pub, a bank, a hairdresser, a dentist and a few other businesses. There's also a down-to-earth cafe called the Golden Daisy Cafe that we enjoyed on several occasions. We felt very comfortable at this apartment and enjoyed the tranquility. The owners were friendly and easy to communicate with. We definitely recommend it and have already booked a return stay for 2015!"

  • Lovely and pet friendly.

"We loved our stay at Sienna Park rental. Bea, was kind, accommodating and extremely informative. We stayed a whole month, while looking for a place to live. The apartment came fully equipped with daily necessities: iron, beach chairs, coffee maker, etc... Close to shopping and siesta key. My little dog loved how many dogs were around the area. The king size bed was comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend. :)"

  • Beautiful Location

"This second floor condo has a beautiful east-facing view of a small lake and a golf course. It is exceptionally clean with easy access to the beaches, downtown and a major shopping area. The only minor drawbacks: You can hear the faint hum of traffic on I-75 pretty much 24/7. It's most noticeable in the morning. Also, they told us they have had to call Comcast out repeatedly to little avail. Consequently TV reception is unreliable. Hopefully by next time that issue will have been resolved and more information will have been provided to guests regarding WIFI access, local attractions, dining out, proper management of recyclables, etc."
