If you're looking for "the spot" on Siesta Key....
"We always wanted to visit Siesta Key but thought it was difficult since there are no commercial locations and most residences have 1-week minimum stays (or more). I am very happy our family came across Sandbox on the Beach. One of the best beach vacations we have had!
The owner is very nice and laid back. He is personable and easy to deal with, always has a smile on his face.
We stayed at unit 4, the 1 bedroom--it was nicely updated and clean.
The location was fantastic--so close to Siesta Key Village (great restaurants and ice cream stops). Sandbox is at the north end of the island and we felt more secluded/less people. The sunsets were amazing--we could go to dinner in the village and make it for sunset nightly (which is great in late October).
Sandbox on the Beach is so close to the ocean (if you look at the distance of the ocean to the buildings of other places on Google or in person, you'll be surprised at how far they are!)--gorgeous sand and ocean so close. The ocean at Siesta Key is quite calm, which was great for swimming with our 4 year old but not so great for late night desire to hear the crashing of waves. Shelling and birds were wonderful.
We can't wait to go back!"

"This was the first time I stayed at Jack and Darlene's property and will definitely be back next year. I've been to Sanibel Island many times but really prefer this beach. Wide, soft white sand and not a lot of shells to step on. The location of the condo couldn't be better, the condo is quite large and very well equipped, and includes covered parking. Loved the new washer and dryer (once I figured it out!). The kitchen is beautiful. I loved the screened in porch the best because it was so large and gave a perfect view of the beach. The unit was super clean and beds were very comfortable. There were no issues whatsoever and working with Jack was a pleasure. Highly recommend this property."

Very nice condo and good location, a few minor quibbles
"We enjoyed our stay here. The access to the beach is great, and this is one of the nicest beaches we have ever seen. You can walk to a small shopping area with a few restaurants and ice cream shops - very convenient. The pool area is also fine, although its location is not ideal, buried in a parking lot instead of near the beach. The pool was as clean as any I've seen. Covered parking with assigned spot added a nice touch.
The unit is very nicely furnished and was clean. We had a few observations that keep it from being a 5-star review.
1. The unit was strangely bare of any sort of household items. No dish soap, no trash bags, no paper towels, no basic cooking items (salt/pepper). Most condos we've rented have a bare minimum of these items on hand.
2. The unit has no outside balcony. The owners have fully enclosed the balcony with windows (which do open).
3. A few minor maintenance issues that were annoying (light bulbs burned out. windows that wouldn't close fully).
4. WiFi in this building is not good. Almost no signal and would drop out all the time. We gave up and just kept our phones on 4G.
Overall, a good solid rental. The owners are very pleasant to deal with, although they only deal in paper/checks/snail mail. Would be nice if they took credit cards or Paypal."

"My wife and I flew our two little ones (4 and 2 1/2) from New Jersey to Florida with hopes that the villa would be as good as it looked in the pictures, and we were pleasantly surprised that the pictures do not do the place justice. It was clean, spaceous, and gave us everything we needed to have the perfect week in paradise. You walk down the little private road and are almost instantly walking on the perfect private splendor of Crescent Beach. Beautiful white sand, ample beach chairs, and clear ocean water that almost felt like we were in a warm bath made this the perfect beach experience. The villa even had a beach umbrella and beach toys for the kids, so we didn't need to worry about packing them or buying our own for the week. We grilled outside and ate at the little patio, and the people were very nice at the gated complex. We never had to worry about losing keys, since we only ever had to remember the codes to get into the gate and our villa, which was a nice convenience. We also had about 8 turtle nests marked off on the beach right near us, so while we didn't see any of the baby turtles escaping to the ocean, the possibility was there. We also arrived on the 4th of July, so we got to see the professional fireworks of Siesta Beach to our right, while other municipalities and amateur beach enthusiasts competed with their own to set the sky aflame. It was a perfect start to a perfect week. And, when the kids didn't want to take the walk to the beach, our villa was about as close as you could be to the pool, which was well maintained and warm. Lastly, the owner was entirely professional, responsive, and helped make our stay as effortless as it could've been. We will definitely consider coming back in the coming years. You can't beat it for the cost."
