  • Sunsets were breathtaking

"We enjoyed a week in this unit. The nautical decor was fun and bright. The bathroom was updated including a great shower. It had everything we needed. The ocean and sunset viewing off the balcony was great. We walked the beautiful beach everyday, and drove to the Everglades for an airboat ride and alligator viewing. We have been coming to Marco every couple of years since 1999, and Breakfast Plus is our favorite breakfast place on Marco. We definitely will be back. My only suggestion would be to have some softer bed pillows as I had difficulty finding a comfortable one for my neck issues."

  • Modern, comfortable, and close to the beach

"We spent two delightful weeks at BUCC house. BUCC house is a modern, bright, high ceilinged house with three bedrooms. It is only a 7 minute walk to the ocean. And at this end of the island, the beaches are blissfully uncrowded! Although restaurants are within walking distance, and the grocery store only a mile or two away, we ate at home quite a bit. The owner has stocked the kitchen expertly with all essentials, including a small food processor and blender. Although we did not use it, a new gas grill is available. Be sure to head to Trico's, a small seafood shop, for shrimp, grouper, redfish, and more. Take the first right just after the bridge at the NW end of the island. Trico's is about a 1/4 mile down the road on the right. Go a little farther and you'll see Bootleggers bar. We visited during "Wisconsin Day" when about 300-400 people dressed in Badger red were drinking beer and watching Packers reruns starting at 11:00 AM. Evidently they host other "States" too. Amazing and fun! I particularly enjoyed biking all over the island. The owner provides four bikes that worked perfectly on this flat landscape. I could bike from one end of the island to the other in only about 25 minutes - often faster than driving. Speaking of that, be sure to ask the owner about the time of day it's best to drive. Traffic at the other end of the island is often bumper to bumper - but not here on the "quiet" end of the island! If you are water people, rent a boat for a half or full day. It's not too expensive and the marina is only a 15 minute walk away. We enjoyed pontooning around the bay and canals very much! In summary, the owner and BUCC house provided all that was needed for a relaxing vacation in the sun. Everything just plain "worked" - no surprises. Who can ask for more!"
