  • Graduation Memories - A Very Special Time

"This was more than a "lake house" - it was truly a "lake home" with the emphasis on HOME. Upon our arrival, the home was spotless, well maintained, and the extra little amenities like the courtesy flip-flops, fussball table, fishing poles, kitchen supplies, etc. made everything perfect. Clearly, a lot of care and thought went into furnishing this home for guests. Our gathering consisted of a few families and several Georgia College graduates and their friends that had all come together to celebrate memories of their four years together. They were all now going out into life on their own. Lots of fun, lots of reminiscing as well as laughter and tears happened this weekend. It was the absolutely perfect setting...the ambience was peaceful, calm and serene. This lake home was large, comfortable and homey. Everyone could have their own spot if they wanted. Two decks with lots of outdoor furniture, upstairs and downstairs living spaces, and the dock with chairs and inflatables. Even a blackboard wall where everyone left personal and funny messages for each other! The goal of our weekend was to make a final lasting memory into the lives of these young people as they begin "real life". We were definitely able to accomplish it thanks to the "home on the lake". I can't give this home high enough ratings. I certainly hope that we can someday return for another reunion in the future."

  • Private Wonderful Cabin

"Pat, I must say every one in my group enjoyed your beauitful pine cabin. This cabin has everything you would need to operate smoothly from linens to a fully supplied kitchen. We toured so many places that your cabin was located central to everything we wanted to see. Each evening we came in and loved the relaxation, comfort and quiet surroundings. The beauitful views from the evenings to the mornings overlooking the valley and seeing deers and yearlings early each morning. Looking forward to another stay at your cabin."

  • Perfection

"First of all Deb is great! She responds to emails and phone calls promptly. Deb even called after we got to the house to be sure everything was ok. It is obvious that Deb and Jim stay at their home occasionally. They have made sure the property is in good shape and everything you need is provided. The location couldn’t more perfect. It is quiet, peaceful, and has a beautiful view. It is far enough away from everything to be enjoyable, yet only 15 minutes away from grocery stores. Both Eatonton and Milledgeville have grocery stores on 441that are accessible without even going into town. Milledgeville also has a shopping mall. It is a lovely little town and worth venturing out to explore. Deb and Jim have everything at the house you could need. From a corkscrew to a crockpot, firewood to spare bulbs, they have provided it. We enjoyed the barbeque grill which was in the best shape of any house we ever rented. The weather was even cold enough to use the fireplace. The house was clean, something you hope for but don’t always get in rentals. It is obvious they take great pride in their home and want others to appreciate it as much as they do. We enjoyed eating on the screen porch every day, sitting by the cove, listening to the geese as they announced their arrival and departures, watching steam from the water on the cold mornings and watching the leaves fall from the many trees on the property. You couldn’t ask for anything else. We went for a week and stayed an extra three days. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back. Thank you Deb and Jim for sharing your home. You made our stay so enjoyable we didn’t want to leave."

  • Excellent accomodations for a family get together

"We had a delightful time at Crane's Nest. The cabin was very spacious and well stocked, the beds were extremely comfortable, and everyone felt very comfortable and safe staying there. I wholeheartedly recommend this cabin for families. If you have very small children, I suggest being very careful on the deck as the benches built around the trees are built in such a way a child could easily fall through the gap around the tree trunks. Also the clock and bird cage inside are top heavy and a little unsteady making then susceptible to being pulled down if tugged on. None of these things were major issues. We had our 2 year old son running around and just had to keep a close eye on him when he was near these things. Both Sheryl (the property owner) and Stacy (the property manager) were extremely accommodating and pleasant to work with from organized the trip through our arrival and departure. Should we visit Perry again, I intend to re-book."
