"We had the best time in this quaint home, everything was as nice as you see in the photos and communication with the owner was easy. Our family gathered for our son's GCSU graduation ( we stayed 4 nights), which was perfect. We celebrated with champagne and steaks on the covered porch while it rained. We lounged on the dock, played in the lake ( brought a kayak) and read in the shade. Morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the lake while hubby fished- ahhh! No regrets that we brought all of our meals, games, and even a puzzle, because all were content in this awesome setting!"Guest: Karen Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 16, 2014View listing
"We stayed during Spring Break with a 9 year old and 6 year old. We fished in the area several days and had pretty good luck. We visited family at the State Park and had a wonderful time. It was only 5 minutes away and has all the amenities you could ask of a State Park..fishing dock, swim area, fire pits, gazebos, boat launch, canoe rental, kid's play ground. All of the children enjoyed the hiking trails and making s'mores at the state park. The two children staying with us at the cabin enjoyed riding bikes in the neighborhood and I felt very safe letting them do this. We caught (and released) a turtle, saw alligators, and identified many birds in the area. It was not warm enough to swim and I would not have felt comfortable anyway because there are DEFINITELY alligators near this cabin. I am not experienced with them, so we watched them cautiously from the dock. It was quiet and peaceful and the trip was enjoyed by all of us. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed for our four day stay. There was a nice selection of kid's DVDs so we watched one each night and bundled up with blankets and popcorn. The cabin reminded me of my childhood days at our fishing camp on the Black Warrior River."Guest: Stephanie R. "I highly recommend this tranquil lakefront home for a vacation or long weekend getaway! We had a wonderful and relaxing time. My sisters and I needed some time together to relax and have sisterly fun. The accommodations are absolutely perfect. The weather was unseasonably warm for this time of year, so we sat outside for meals and enjoyed the beauty of the lake. Every evening we sat on the dock to watch the magnificent sunsets. They were marvelous. This is a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. The location is far enough away to have peace and quiet and close enough to the city if you need to pick up anything. I hope we can come back again and make this an annual event."Guest: Row Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 13, 2014View listing
"My husband and I took our teenage girls and another couple to the Lake for a long weekend. It was such a quiet, relaxing time, and we really enjoyed it. The guys fished, and the girls hung out, spending hours watching the lake and yard birds through the back windows. The house has everything you need for a comfortable visit, and the owners could not be more helpful or friendly. I would come back again in a minute!"Guest: The Larkins Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 26, 2014View listing
