"We rented this condo for our son's out of town wedding. We were concerned about everyone trying to get ready for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, getting in each others way. This condo is spacious, we were not on top of each other. The condo's décor is nice, it's very clean, well supplied and in a great location. Also the owner is fabulous to work with. I would recommend this condo to those looking for a comfortable stay in Athens!"

"We chose this spot because we originally planned on going to Savannah, but it was too expensive for our family of 7.
Pros: easy access from northern states, taking 75 south
- quiet lake with nice dock
-the kids loved the kayaks
-lake suitable for swimming!
Nuances- the oven temperature was hit or miss, so we preferred to use the stove. I wouldn't recommend this gone for toddlers. The stairway isn't safe without constant supervision of little ones but it was fine for our kids, 6 and up. The washing machine sometimes took forever to fill up and would just drip instead of fill with water. The wi-fi is better than nothing but not good for streaming video. The house does have a DVD Player. There's plenty of dishes and a coffee maker. The bathrooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. We had 7 people, but one had to sleep on the couch. Which he didn't mind. One bedroom has a door, and the others don't, so kids had to respect the privacy of others.
We were a little concerned driving in because there were a lot of run down properties nearby, but the house was nice and well taken care of. Some overgrown brush. But pretty clear walkways. We were a little weirded out by the Old Testament bible verses posted on the roads that were referred to "wicked ways", but didn't encounter anyone who was judgemental or rude. The caretaker was friendly and helped remove our trash.
Town is 8 miles away and has everything you need and a small movie theatre. Other day trips are generally about two hours.
Overall it was a pleasant trip for our blended family to spend time together. Jump off the dock or float in the lake on a raft!

"My Husband and I recently escaped to this adorable throwback of a house for a late anniversary getaway. This house has everything one would need to be comfortable for any amount of time. The linens were clean and the bed was super comfy! The owner has thought of everything that one would need to prepare meals and the washer and dryer are super handy. I loved every part of this house but my favorite spot was sitting right at the end of the dock. I highly recommend this house for a couple or an entire family!"

"We stayed there for a 5 day weekend to celebrate a big birthday, and had a fabulous time! The house is gorgeous, warm and welcoming, and so comfortable that we all slept better than we had in years. The environment was quiet and relaxing with so many seating options, and the choices of activities seemed endless. This was the best stocked and furnished home we have EVER been to in our many, MANY years of travel. Best location for views on the lake, easy access to shopping area and restuarants, and just perfect! This will certainly be an annual event for us....outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
